Bewitching Elizabeth Montgomery was the daughter of silver-screen actor Robert Montgomery, and got her start on his TV show ROBERT MONTGOMERY PRESENTS. After marrying second husband Gig Young in 1956, Montgomery shied away from films but made numerous appearances on popular TV shows. Upon their 1963 divorce, Montgomery returned to making films, but third husband William Asher cast her as "Samantha" on the 1964-72 ABC-TV series BEWITCHED. If you look fast, you can see her in a cameo role in the 1965 beach party flick HOW TO STUFF A WILD BIKINI, at the end of the film. After ending BEWITCHED, Asher and Montgomery divorced; she then went on to make many TV movies and married her sometime costar, Robert Foxworth. Sadly, Montgomery passed away at the age of 62 in 1995...this early glamour shot of "Sam" blows me away . . not the way i am used to seeing her!

The topless photo of Erin Murphy on the internet isn’t what you think. Erin began her career while still in diapers. Discovered by an agent, as her mother pushed her stroller in Los Angeles, Erin got her first job, playing a boy in a commercial for Folgers Coffee, at eleven months. Her next job was a detergent commercial with future President Ronald Reagan.
Right before her second birthday, ABC came calling, and Erin was cast as little witch Tabitha Stephens on the top ten sitcom, Bewitched. Millions of fans around the world tuned in to see if Tabitha had inherited magical powers from her mother Samantha. They delighted in Erin’s antics as she turned bullies into bulldogs and bullfrogs, played piano like a maestro and skated like Dorothy Hamill.
After eight seasons, 23 Emmy nominations, and 254 episodes, Bewitched gracefully ended without cancellation. Despite the fact that Bewitched was filmed in the 60’s and 70’s, the popularity of the show endures. Entertainment Weekly recently named Bewitched one of the “100 Greatest TV Shows of All Time” and for the 50th Anniversary of TV Guide.
Immediately following Bewitched, Erin turned down a part on The Waltons to go to Girl Scout camp, but she didn’t lose her love for the business. During her teens, Erin modeled and did numerous commercials. Today, she is 44 and has worked as a casting director, a makeup artist, a fashion stylist, an acting teacher, a motivational speaker. With her engaging personality, sense of humor and ability to appeal to audiences as diverse as Nickelodeon and Howard Stern, Erin is a popular celebrity host. She’s been featured on numerous programs, look for her on as the host of the Ab Shark infomercial for Thane & the Bun Shaper infomercial for Emson!

Even though Marion Lorne had five decades of stage work on her resume, she didn't become widely famous as an actress until the last few years of her life. Her occasional role as the befuddled, forgetful, and utterly lovable Aunt Clara on the sitcom Bewitched made her a TV favorite. In her episodes on the show, Clara (who was one of Samantha Stevens' relatives, and thus a witch) would unintentionally cause chaos in the Stevens household with her inability to control her spell-casting powers. Lorne was awarded a well deserved Emmy for her role in 1968. Sadly, the award came posthumusly; she had died of a heart attack at age 82 a few weeks earlier. Elizabeth Montgomery accepted the Emmy on Lorne's behalf.

Today we are used to favorite sitcoms ending their runs with big finishes. That seldom used to be the case. Here is the last scene of the 252nd and final episode of Bewitched. It was produced in December 1971 and aired in March 1972. The episode's title is "The Truth, and Nothing But the Truth, So Help Me Sam." It's ordinary plot revolves around a unicorn pin which, because of a spell that Endora has placed on it, compels any mortal close to it to always tell the truth. There is no farewell scene--just Samantha and Darrin fittingly expressing their love for each other as the episode ends. By 1972, Bewitched had been moved by ABC to a deadly Saturday time slot directly against All in the Family. Neverthless, it still attracted decent enough ratings. There were initial plans for a ninth season. However, Elizabeth Montgomery and her husband Bill Asher (who produced the show) were divorcing, so the continuation of Bewitched would have been awkward.
