As an April Fools joke in 1957, the respected BBC program Panorama broadcast this bogus news feature about the springtime spaghetti harvest...in Switzerland. Many people were duped by the prank and contacted the BBC to request more information about spaghetti farming.

Funny Girl Barbra Streisand as Fanny is now part of the Ziegfeld Follies. She tells Walter Pidgeon as Florenz Ziegfeld, she doesn't want to be in the finale because she finds the lyrics inappropriate but Ziegfeld insists. so the rest is history, in Hollywood - remember what happens as ONLY BABS Could pull off!
(BTW, the "pregnant bride" prank never actually happened - according to Jule Styne's widow, the bit was Garson Kanin's idea. And in reality, there's no record of Ziegfeld and Brice ever having had any disputes - they got along famously.)

In May 2005, a renowned British hoaxer, known only as Banksy, placed this alleged piece of 'cave art'--showing a prehistoric man with a shopping cart--in the British Museum in London. Titled 'Early Man Goes To Market,' the piece hung on a wall for three days before anyone questioned its authenticity. Banksy, who has pranked museums around the world, even provided a caption under his masterpiece: 'This finely preserved example of primative art dates from the post-Catatonic era...' How did no one spot such an obvious hoax for three days? Said a chagrined museum representative, 'It looked very much in keeping with the other exhibits.'

This 1969 Topps baseball card, despite what it says, is not a picture of Aurelio Rodriguez of the California Angels. It is actually Leonard Garcia, the team's 16-year-old batboy. The prank was orchestrated by Rodriguez himself.
