Mel Brooks is a comedic genius and this film proves it. It was actually filmed in the same castle as the original Frankenstein classic, and starred Gene Wilder, Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Madeleine Kahn,Teri Garr, Cloris Leachman, Kenneth Mars, and Gene Hackman. If you haven't seen it you're missing out on one of the funniest films of our generation.

This hit show ran for nine years from 1996 to 2005. Alongside Seinfeld, Friends and Frasier, it was one of the most critically acclaimed American sitcoms of its time.

October 6th marks the first televised appearance of American Bandstand. I found some interesting trivia concerning the show. It was customary on AB to have Clark perform a mini-interview with the guest band members. Clark says the most difficult interview he performed was with Prince, an unknown at the time of his appearance. Prince was unresponsive and would generally answer his questions with only a hand gesture or a single word. Clark in fact asked Prince how many instruments he played, Prince responded with, "A thousand."
Another famous mini-interview Clark is famous for is one with Madonna, who, when asked what she would like to do 20 years from now, answered coyly, "To rule the world!"
B.B. King and Jerry Lee Lewis were the only recording artists to actually sing on the program. They were uncomfortable with miming their performances and requested that they just perform the songs live on the set. In 1961, Tony Orlando performed his then-hit song "Bless You" with his trousers zipper open!

When Peter Boyle died on Dec 12, 2006, we lost a truly gifted comic. Here are a few clips of him doing what he did best, making us laugh.

Old enough to remember Little Lulu? The comic strip first appeared in the Saturday Evening Post on February 23, 1935 in a single panel comic strip, and ran until Dec 30, 1944. Lulu appeared in a series of theatrical animated shorts from 43-48. Her voice was done by Mae Questal, who also did Betty Boop and Olive Oyl. In the late 50's the cartoon was syndicated to tv. The Little Lulu anime is extremely rare and has been out of print in the US for years, although some full-length English-language episodes recently turned up on YouTube, and were said to have all been removed....

I was born 52 years ago in Western Massachusetts. I have 3 brothers who are all in public safety. I've been married for 28 years with 3 kids and 3 grandkids. I just celebrated 30 years of being a firefighter and hold the title of Assistant Fire Marshal. My hobbies are computer games, primarily Flight Sims and role playing games like City of Heroes. I collect Nascar diecast and have over 1,300 pieces in my collection. I attend as many races as I can, usualy in Loudon, New Hampshire and Charlotte. I also enjoy going to airshows and traveling to my in-laws home in the Netherlands. I really like viewing the older clips that remind me of my childhood.

This is one of those shows that made up a fictional special force unit that could do anything and in my opinion absolutely a must watch for this lad as a teenager. Real gung-ho stuff!

Another example of why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover: Scotland's Susan Boyle's stunning performance of 'I Dreamed A Dream' on the 2009 version of Britain's Got Talent.
