Drag racing was a "new" thing in the early fifties. It was still an outcast activity seeking the direction needed to ensure its survival as a legitimate, and legal activity. The legions of young men who had a desire to test their homemade cars in open competition would find that direction with the birth of the National Hot Rod Association.
One of the first drag strips to operate on a regular basis was in Reyes own backyard. The Santa Ana drags were conducted at the local airport, and in 1955, a then fourteen-year-old Larry Reyes took his first trip down that historical quarter mile. His mother's Volkswagen was his first ride . . .

Originally known as "You'll Never Get Rich" and then "The Phil Silvers Show," the granddaddy of all military sitcoms was broadcast from 1955 to 1959. Silvers starred as Master Sgt. Ernie Bilko, the con artist supreme who turns Fort Baxter into his personal base of operations for one get-rich-quick scheme after another. Harvey Lembeck, Joe E. Ross, and Maurice Gosfield as Pvt. Doberman were among the members of Bilko's platoon, and Paul Ford played the camp commander. . .

Ex-football player Brian Bosworth starred in the FOX series Lawless--which didn't last beyond its premiere episode on Friday, March 21, 1997. The series centered around John Lawless, an ex-special forces operative who became a motorcycle-riding private investigator in Miami's South Beach. Here's a brief promo.

A cool battery operated from the 60's from Ideal Toy Corporation. King Zor came with a dart gun (not shown)and 5 or 6 darts. You were supposed to shoot King Zor's tail and if you hit it, he'd turn, and fire yellow balls at you. I wouldn't dare shoot his tail now for fear of breaking the it! You can nudge the tail to get the same effect. Oh man, please forgive the filming. This when I started doing toy vids and the TV was on in the background and I was looking through a view finder and trying to make sure Zor didn't fall off of the table, all at the same time. I now use a tri-pod. I will do another in the near future. If any one has this or parts, I need some, especially the box and some darts. Co

A wonderful mmachine that was one of the first to introduce electronic switching to replace the older, manually operated levers. Still working great!

A vintage Jimmy Jet in action. Deluxe Reading sold these in grocery and drug stores and their toys were place on the top shelves to keep grubby little hands like mine from them. I remember bugging the heck out of my parents for this toy and many others. Most of Deluxe's toys were big and fanstastic! The grocery and drug stores had lay away for the items because most of these toys cost a week's salary back then. Please excuse the filming. I was sick when I was doing the filming and looking through a view finder. The lights were dimmed so you could see how it operates.
