The anticipation of the new movie release has indeed released some great memories of Saturday morning cartoons. I for one do intend to go see the new movie because of all the memories of watching as a child.

This title sequence and a few select scenes should bring back great memories of this film. It was an instant success and made a fortune at the boxoffice. One of the few films of that time actually made with no sex or profanity, the cast included Spencer Tracy, Jonathan Winters, Mickey Rooney, Buddy Hackett, Sid Ceasar, Dick Shawn,Ethel Merman, Milton Berle, Terry Thomas, and many more top comedians of our generation.

This brings back memories of high school, especially summer days in the 60's, going down the highway, with no responsibilities, just headin to the beach. And those muscle cars were so awesome, even now, if you're lucky enough to have one.

I put this together because it's good to hear him both at the beginning of his amazing career and towards the end. Lonesome Town from 1958 and Hello Mary Lou, live in 1985. I hope you'll enjoy the memories with me.

Paul Williams wrote the soundtrack for a generation. His songs were everywhere in the 1970s -- you could hear them on the radio, television, movies, and The Muppets. The simple honesty of his lyrics still captures attention and spurs the imagination. This song, The Rainbow Connection seems to fit him so well. Happy Birthday Paul Williams, you've given us happy memories!

When I was 7 yrs old my grandmother (being a big fan) took me to see my first Kirk Douglas film, Man Without a Star, and he became my first hero. If you're also a fan, I hope this clip will bring back a lot of fond memories.

This familar TV theme ought to bring back memories. This happens to be the opening of the first-ever My Three Sons episode, in 1960. The show ran an amazing 12 years and went through many cast changes. The pre-1965 black and white episodes are seldom seen these days. My favorite cast member was the beautiful Tina Cole who played Katie. She was adorable! Whatever became of her?
