First Issue of Playboy Magazine The first issue, published in December 1953, did not carry a date, as Hefner was unsure whether there would be a second issue. It was produced in Hefner's Hyde Park kitchen. The first centerfold was Marilyn Monroe, although the picture used had originally been taken for a calendar, rather than for Playboy. The first issue was an immediate sensation; it sold out within a matter of weeks. The cover price was 50. Copies of the first issue in Mint to Near Mint condition sold for over $5,000 in 2002.

HUBLEY CAST IRON TOYS Hubley Manufacturing Co., of Lancaster, PA, produced an array of great cast iron toys for many years. Toys like cars, trucks, cap guns, trains, planes and even dollhouse kitchen appliances. Here is a restored Curtiss P-40 Warhawk from the 40's.

ANGIE Intro 1979 to 1980 This was a decent enough 70's sitcom, that aired on Thursdays at 8:30pm on ABC, starring Donna Pescow, Robert Hayes, and Doris Roberts. Even back then Doris was cast as the opinionated, outspoken Italian mother, who spent most of her time in the kitchen cooking pasta. Of course, her character was molded from real life because most Italian mothers are exactly like this. Ahhh, some things never change.

Its A Westinghouse the unique stove seen here is a circa 1920 Westinghouse Automatic Electric Range... the box above the burners on the stove as well as the clock sitting atop it was part of the original equipment: a mechanical device which apparently allowed for the "modern convenience" of pre-setting a specified time for the oven to turn on and off. "The Westinghouse Electric Range will enable you to shop or play or rest when you please, with the comfortable certainty that you will never find your dinner scorched or dried out, and that the finest flavors will be retained. Results are not only certain, but uniformly good, since the range, because of exact heat regulation, will always duplicate its happiest previous effort. The Westinghouse Automatic Electric Range is doing this kind of cooking for thousands of women, in kitchens that stay cool, at a cost for current more reasonable than you might expect, and with considerable savings in food weight."

Eminence Front The Who Still Rocking after all these years. Now they have been donating there proceeds to Good Charitys. Here in Detroit they donated to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Believe me, these are some hard times we live in. God Bless Them!
