Rosina Lawrence Pretty Rosina Lawrence was a Canadian-born actress who briefly enjoyed success on the silver screen in the late 1930s. She appeared as the school teacher in five Our Gang shorts (where she was known as either Miss Jones or Miss Lawrence) and was the female lead in the 1936 Laurel and Hardy comedy Way Out West. By 1939 Lawrence was married and had retired from show business. She died in 1997 at the age of 84. Widowed once, her second husband was Laurel and Hardy's biographer.

Deacon Jones on The Brady Bunch Deacon Jones died on June 3, 2013 at the age of 74. Jones was undoubtedly one of the greatest defensive players in the history of the National Football League. Had accurate totals of sacks been counted in Jones' era, many fans believe he might still hold the all-time NFL record nearly 40 years after he retired. (One source credits Jones 26 unofficial sacks in the 14-game 1967 season---which would be a single-season NFL record. Sacks weren't officially recorded in the NFL until 1982.) Despite his football prowess, my first memory of Jones comes from this 1971 episode of The Brady Bunch in which he played himself. The plot revolves around Peter being teased by his macho football teammates because he sings with a glee club.

Vanishing TV Character - Spearchucker Jones Oliver Harmon (Spearchucker) Jones was a surgeon both in the movie and television series MASH. He was portrayed in the TV series by Timothy Brown. Jones was a tent-mate of fellow surgeons Hawkeye Pierce, Trapper John McIntyre, and Frank Burns. However, Spearchucker was shown during only the first five episodes of Season One (1972-73) before vanishing forever. What happened to Spearchucker? MASH's producers dropped him from the show after concluding they would not be able to write enough meaningful episodes for the character once they decided to mainly focus on Hawkeye and Trapper. Furthermore they were told there were no black surgeons assigned to MASH units during the Korean War. (Apparently that was inaccurate.)
