Here's two top of the chart songs from Charlie Rich on his appearance in Pop Goes the Country in 1979. Although these two songs brought him fame in the mid 70's, his real love was playing blues and jazz.

Charlie Rich had so much more talent than he was given credit for, he was a genius when it came to the piano, wrote and played not only country music, but blues and jazz as well. Here's one of his hits from the 70's that we hardly ever get to hear anymore.

In the 1950s and 60s, she had her biggest success as a blues and R&B singer. She is best known for her 1961 ballad "At Last", which has been classified as a "timeless classic" and has been featured in many movies and television commercials since its release. Frankie was a typical Sicilian kid, born, Francesco Paolo LoVecchio, in the heart of Chicago's Little Italy on March 30, 1913, where his father worked at one time as the personal barber for gangster Al Capone. His family had several Mafia connections, and when Frankie was young, he was living with his grandfather when the latter was hit by some members of a rival faction. He began as a marathon dancer, but soon realized that he wanted to make singing his life's career. He became one of the most successful American singers of the twentieth century, often billed as America's Number One Song Stylist, his other nicknames included Mr. Rhythm, Old Leather Lungs, and Old Man Jazz. His hits included "That's My Desire", "That Lucky Old Sun," "Mule Train", "Cry of the Wild Goose", "Jezebel," "High Noon", "I Believe", "Hey Joe!", "The Kid's Last Fight", "Cool Water", "Moonlight Gambler", "Love is a Golden Ring", "Rawhide", and "Lord, You Gave Me a Mountain". His career as an entertainer spanned approximately 75 years. Frankie passed away on February 6, of this year, due to heart failure after having survived two bypass surgeries several years earlier.

NEW YORK - Singer Teresa Brewer, who topped the charts in the 1950s with hits like "Till I Waltz Again with You," and performed with jazz legends Count Basie and Duke Ellington, died Wednesday. She was 76. This is a clip from her 1981 concert.
Brewer died at her New Rochelle home of a neuromuscular disease, said family spokesman Bill Munroe. Her four daughters were at her bedside.
Brewer had scores of hits in the 1950s and a burgeoning film career, but she pared down her public life to raise her children. She re-emerged a decade later to perform with jazz greats Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie and Wynton Marsalis.

In concert 1970 with the environmentalist "Big Yellow Taxi". Joni Mitchell, was born Roberta Joan Anderson on November 7, 1943, in Fort Macleod, Alberta. She is a Canadian musician, songwriter, and painter. Her
singing began in small nightclubs and busking on the streets of Toronto and in her native Western Canada. She subsequently became associated with the fast growing folk music scene of the mid-1960s in New York City. Later, while she was playing one night in "The Gaslight South", a club in Florida, David Crosby walked in and was immediately struck by her ability and her appeal as an artist. He took her back to Los Angeles, where he set about introducing her and her music to his friends. Mitchell achieved fame in the late 1960's and was considered a key part of the Southern California folk rock scene. Throughout the 1970's, she explored and combined the pop and jazz genres. She's amassed a body of work that is highly respected by both critics and fellow musicians.

Hi, I am known as Stalzz on your site.
I was born in November, 1964 and I'm from Denver Colorado. I love old movies and old music and old TV shows, and I collect a lot of it on DVD and CD. I also collect celebrity autographed memorabilia. I have over 500 items signed by various celebs from movies and TV shows, with a specialty in character actors and actresses. The only genre of autographs I don't collect are sports figures. I don't collect the autographs to sell them, I collect them to keep them. My most favorite ones are from Astronaut John Glenn (personalized to me), actor Edward G. Robinson and comedians George Burns, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd.
I have been a part time radio broadcaster for 20 years at Denver's public radio jazz station KUVO- www.kuvo.org
I'm single, I've never been married, I have no kids but I do have a black cat named Spooky.
I really enjoy seeing all the old TV show clips on You Remember That, especially the musical ones and classic TV commercials.
