How she stays so gorgeous is anyone's guess, but being Sicilian myself, I would be willing to bet there's something in the olive oil, no kidding. In any case, I better get me a few barrels of it lol

Lois Maxwell, who became so well-known for her performances as Ms Moneypenny in the James Bond films, has died. The Canadian-born actress starred alongside Sean Connery in the first James Bond movie, "Dr. No," in 1962 as the secretary to M, the head of the secret service.- but there's much more to her acting career than that. She started out against her parents will - and without their knowledge in a Canadian childrens radio program - credited as 'Robin Wells'. Before the age of 15 she left for England with The Canadian Army's Entertainment Corps and managed (after her age had been discovered) to get herself enrolled in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she met and became friends with Roger Moore. Her movie career started with a Warner production A Matter of Life and Death (1946). After having won The Most Promising Newcomer Golden Globe Award in 1947 she went on to participate in 6 Hollywood productions before she decided to try her luck in Italy. She had to leave for England because of her husband's illness, and since then she has had roles in a number of movies besides the first 14 Bond movies. In 1989 she retired.
She died Saturday night at Fremantle Hospital near her home in Perth, Australia. Bond star, Roger Moore said she was suffering from cancer. She was 80.

Canadians don't generally win a lot of gold medals at the Olympics. When we do, it's cause for celebration. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, Canada's Chandra Crawford won a gold medal in cross-country skiing. She further endeared herself to the country with her gleeful singing of O Canada on the medal podium.

Here's a minute of film from the 1908 Olympics in London. The opening clip shows the famous finish to the marathon: Italy's Dorando Pietri staggering into the stadium, collapsing, and being assisted across the finsh line. (Pietri was properly disqualified.) You have to love the pole vaulter landing on his feet in the sand. There were no sissy landing mats in 1908!

It is virtually unknown in the United States, but this is one of the great redemption moments in all sports: Stuart Pearce's penalty kick at Euro '96. At the 1990 World Cup tournament in Italy, England lost their semifinal versus West Germany when Pearce failed to score in a penalty shootout. Six years later, when England hosted Euro '96, the England-Spain quarterfinal went to a penalty shootout. Despite the baggage from his 1990 failure, Pearce bravely volunteered to take one of England's penalty kicks. His reaction upon scoring ran the gamut of emotions.
