One of the most recognizable and catchy TV themes: The Jeffersons. Based on the names of the cast members listed, this is from the second season, I believe. Didn't you love Mother Jefferson and eccentric neighbor Mr. Bentley?

'Name a crime we've all considered committing.' You won't believe how a contestant answers this one.

This was just way too cool! Tap dancing on ice skates! And I just LOVE this song...Tommy Dorsey performed it, I believe. Cousins has made the successful transfer from sport to stage, playing the Prince in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Munkustrap in Cats, and Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Show in the West End. He also starred in, produced, directed, and/or choreographed many international TV ice spectaculars such as The Nutcracker on Ice, Sleeping Beauty on Ice, The Wizard of Oz on Ice, Toy Story on Ice, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express on Ice, Holiday on Ice, and the movie The Cutting Edge. He appeared as the head judge on the show Dancing on Ice in January - March 2006, again in 2007 and scheduled for 2008.

Ripley's Believe It Or Not was a regular feature in newspapers for many decades. Its creator, Robert Ripley, hoped to be a professional baseball player but an arm injury ended that dream. Instead, Ripley decided to write about sports. He compiled some odd sports facts and presented them in cartoon form. Ripley intended to call it Champs & Chumps, but settled on Believe It Or Not so he could go beyond sports. His first cartoon panel premiered in the New York Globe on December 19, 1918. At one point, there were 80 million loyal readers of Believe It Or Not in daily newspapers. Much of Ripley's research was done by Norbert Pearlroth. For 52 years, Pearlroth spent 10 hours per day, six days a week in the New York Public Library searching for obscure facts and trivia for Ripley's cartoons!

The April 8, 1966 cover of Time famously asked a very emotionally charged and controversial question: 'Is God Dead?' The accompanying article began, 'Is God dead? It is a question that tantalizes both believers, who perhaps secretly fear that he is, and atheists, who possibly suspect that the answer is no.'

Here's a clip of Bob Hope in the movie "The Ghost Breakers," where he says what is considered to be one of his funniest lines ever. Politically sensitive folk beware; he knocks democrats. Keep in mind, however, that politically parties represented an entirely different set of beliefs in the 1940s. That said, it is interesting to see a movie from 1940 crack a joke about democrats when it is more commonplace in today's films to see the same jokes said about republicans.

This is just one of the sketches taken from a show called "Spitting Image" a satirical puppet show from the UK. This show was very popular in the 80's and 90's. Cruel it may be but it wasn't as bad as some tabloids would have you believe.
