I say opening credits. But, you get about 3.5 minutes of show before you ever see them. That's just the way the show did it. My dad (retired Army and just turned 80) and I watched this show together each week when I was younger. Very little military action was ever shown on this show. It was more about personal drama than anything else. How many of you remember, 12 O'Clock High?

My name is Stacy, I'm 41 and I live in Texas. I am the youngest of 5. My siblings were 13, 14, 19 and 24 when I was born. My first five years were filled with the greatest 60s and 70s music around blaring all the time thanks to my then teenage brother and sister. My brother had tons of records and I listened to them every chance I got. I was allowed to stay home alone in the summer when I was around 8-12. The lady next door was my sitter but she let me hang out in my house and would just come check on me. Its was fabulous. I sat around and ate and watched television all summer!
My husbands name is Lance and he is in the Tx Army Guard and went to Iraq for a year. We have 3 boys Cody is 21, Trevan is 11 and Grant is 7.
We have two dogs Simona and Moose also we have two cockatiels names Jax and Cate.
We also have one boring turtle. We had two but Grant put him on the washing machine and the next minute he was gone.
As for jobs, I was a cheerleading coach from 1990 until 2007. I owned my own program from 1998 to 2007. I retired in 2007.I was a photographer in high school and our year books are loaded with pictures I took. I continued that hobby well into adulthood. In 2004 I opened a free gallery of my "stock" type photos. My photos have been used in tons of stuff. Ive been the cover of at least 3 books that I know of. A handful of magazines, My photos have been used in two games, hundreds of advertisements and one was recently featured on Good Morning America.
While my husband was in Bosnia I bought Photoshop and taught myself. I got so good I began teaching online classes.
My main thing right now is home schooling my kids. Cody is out of school but Trevan is in 6th and Grant is in 1st. I started home schooling with Cody way back in 1992 so its really not a challenge anymore. Its great fun and I enjoy having my kids with me pretty much all the time.
I collect movies and I have over 1000 of them. Do you know how much room that takes up? As I said in my bio I'm slightly obsessed with Oscar. I never miss him and I have stuffed lots of Academy Award trivia in my head. I love old stuff and collect barbies, sesame street stuff, star wars stuff, and tons of other stuff I don't need. Ill be sure and post some pix soon.
Future plans are to sell our house (were packing now) and buy an RV and be full timers.

From June to November 1969, the American portion of Niagara Falls had its water flow from the Niagara River diverted to Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side. It was the work of the US Army Corps of Engineers. The reason for the drastic measure was to scientifically study the falls for critical erosion damage. At the time there was a great fear that steady erosion was irretrievably affecting the falls. If the falls eroded to the point where they were not spectacular, the lucrative local tourism industry would suffer badly. The only way to know for sure if the falls were threatened was to examine the limestone precipice without any water present. Accordingly the engineers deftly dumped tons of landfill to block the American side of the falls. The Niagara River's typical discharge of 60,000 gallons of water per minute was reduced to just a small trickle. It was determined that natural erosion was not a threat at the time, but the engineers did use the opportunity to install sensors to alert them to any future erosion issues. Interestingly 1969 produced the greatest tourism year ever at Niagara Falls because people were drawn to the region to view the strangely barren waterfall.

Tighten Up LIVE - 1967 Tighten Up by Archie Bell was recorded during the time when Bell was drafted into the Army to serve in Vietnam. While on a short leave, he recorded the single "Tighten It Up" with musical backing by The TSU Tornadoes. Issued in December 1967, "Tighten It Up" became a huge hit in Houston and was picked up for distribution by New York-based Atlantic Records. "Tighten Up," written by Bell and Billy Butler sold more than three million copies, holding both the #1 R&B and the #1 Pop spot for two weeks on Billboard's charts in spring 1968. The Tighten Up LP hit #15 R&B and #142 Pop in summer 1968. Unfortunately, Bell was stationed in Germany while all of this was happening.

Albert Woolson, the last accepted Civil War veteran of the Union Army, died on August 2, 1956. At the time of his death he was reputedly 109 years old. However, census data indicated that Woolson was likely 'only' 106 years old. Woolson's father had been killed at the Battle of Shiloh. Woolson enlisted as a drummer boy in 1864. His unit did only garrison duty, so Woolson never experienced combat. After Woolson died, Life Magazine did a seven-page feature on him.

Harold Holt, the 58-year-old prime minister of Australia, who had been in office only 22 months, vanished while swimmiming in the ocean late in 1967. On the morning of Sunday, December 17, Holt together with friends Christopher Anderson, Jan Lee and George Illson and his two bodyguards, drove down from Melbourne to see the British yachtsman Alec Rose sail through Port Phillip Heads in his boat Lively Lady to complete a leg of his solo circumnavigation of the globe, which started and ended in England. Around noon, the party drove to one of Holt's favorite swimming and snorkelling spots, Cheviot Beach on Point Nepean near Portsea, on the eastern arm of Port Phillip Bay. Holt decided to go swimming, although the surf was heavy and Cheviot Beach was notorious for its strong currents and dangerous rip tides.
Ignoring his friends' pleas not to go in, Holt began swimming, but soon disappeared from view. Fearing the worst, his friends raised the alarm. Within a short time, the beach and the water off shore were being searched by a large contingent of police, Royal Australian Navy divers, Royal Australian Air Force helicopters, Army personnel from nearby Point Nepean and local volunteers. This quickly escalated into one of the largest search operations in Australian history, but no trace of Holt was ever found.
Two days later, the government made an official announcement that Holt was presumed dead. Deputy Prime Minister John McEwen was sworn in as caretaker Prime Minister until such time as the governing Liberal party could elect a new leader.
There were many rumors surrounding Holt's strange death, including claims that he had committed suicide or faked his own death in order to run away with his mistress. The mystery became the subject of numerous urban myths in Australia, including persistent claims that he was kidnapped (or rescued) by a Chinese submarine, or the far-fetched claim that he had been abducted by a UFO.
