Final Whats My Line - John Daly Mystery Guest The original classic Sunday night version of What's My Line ended its run of more than 17 years and 876 shows on September 3, 1967. Everyone figured the final mystery guest would be a biggie. Some newspapers even speculated it would be President Lyndon Johnson. (Hence, Arlene Francis' question about being 'voted into office.') Instead host John Daly was himself the mystery guest! Quite a fitting conclusion, I'd say!

Family Ties Looking back 25 Years Family Ties ran for 8 years and starred Michael J. Fox as Alex P. Keaton, the conservative, business-oriented son of liberal parents Elyse and Steven (Meredith Baxter-Birney and Michael Gross). Elyse was a successful architect, while Steven ran a public television station. They lived in suburban Columbus, Ohio with their children: Alex (Michael J Fox, Mallory (Justine Bateman) and Jennifer (Tina Yothers). Another child, Andrew (Brian Bonsall), was added later. The majority of the show's humor was derived from the tension between Alex's conservative, Republican mindset, Mallory's uninformed consumerism, and their parents' attitudes as liberal Democrats, who grew up as hippie flower children in the 1960s. This show gave Michael J Fox his shot at superstardom, and aren't we all glad it did! This show began two spinoffs, Day by Day, which lasted two seasons, and The Art of Being Nick, which was produced as a pilot but never picked up as a series.

My Three Sons opening credits This familar TV theme ought to bring back memories. This happens to be the opening of the first-ever My Three Sons episode, in 1960. The show ran an amazing 12 years and went through many cast changes. The pre-1965 black and white episodes are seldom seen these days. My favorite cast member was the beautiful Tina Cole who played Katie. She was adorable! Whatever became of her?

Jimmy Carter on Whats My Line In 1974, when Jimmy Carter was governor of Georgia, he appeared as a contestant on the syndicated version of What's My Line. He was so anonymous at the time he wasn't recognized. Two years later he'd be elected president.

Rhiannon performed by Fleetwood Mac Fleetwood Mac-Rhiannon-1976..."Rhiannon" is a popular single released by Fleetwood Mac in 1976. The song was the first example of Stevie Nicks' prolific writing, performing and singing within the band. In later years her performing and singing would become even more important in the band's artistry. Nicks is renowned for dramatic live performances of Rhiannon in flowing gowns. "Rhiannon" was voted #488 in The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine. (Most of us, some more then others can never forget this song and the great on stage performance of the band)

Awww Happy Birthday Snoopy Snoopy first made his appearance on the strip on October 4, 1950, two days after the strip premiered, and was identified by name on November 10. Schulz was originally going to call him "Sniffy" (as described in 25th anniversary book, Peanuts Jubilee, (pg. 20)), until he discovered that name was used in a different comic strip. Snoopy was a silent character for the first two years of his existence, but on May 27, 1952 he verbalized his thoughts to readers for the first time via a thought balloon; Schulz would utilize this device for nearly all of the character's appearances in the strip thereafter. In addition to Snoopy's ability to "speak" his thoughts to the reader, many of the human characters in Peanuts have the uncanny knack of reading his thoughts and responding to them.

Frankie Laine Sings Jezebel Frankie was a typical Sicilian kid, born, Francesco Paolo LoVecchio, in the heart of Chicago's Little Italy on March 30, 1913, where his father worked at one time as the personal barber for gangster Al Capone. His family had several Mafia connections, and when Frankie was young, he was living with his grandfather when the latter was hit by some members of a rival faction. He began as a marathon dancer, but soon realized that he wanted to make singing his life's career. He became one of the most successful American singers of the twentieth century, often billed as America's Number One Song Stylist, his other nicknames included Mr. Rhythm, Old Leather Lungs, and Old Man Jazz. His hits included "That's My Desire", "That Lucky Old Sun," "Mule Train", "Cry of the Wild Goose", "Jezebel," "High Noon", "I Believe", "Hey Joe!", "The Kid's Last Fight", "Cool Water", "Moonlight Gambler", "Love is a Golden Ring", "Rawhide", and "Lord, You Gave Me a Mountain". His career as an entertainer spanned approximately 75 years. Frankie passed away on February 6, of this year, due to heart failure after having survived two bypass surgeries several years earlier.
