Chairmen of the Board Give Me Just A Little More Time Give Me Just a Little More Time" is the debut single for Chairmen of the Board, released in 1970 Lyrics Give me just a little more time And our love will surely grow Give me just a little more time And our love will surely grow Life's too short to make a mistake Let's think of each other and hesitate Young and impatient we may be There's no need to act foolishly

The Real 50s Woman for Teresa This was taken on our first vacation to Miami Beach in 1955. If she knew I was posting this I'd be dead! My mom was so typical of the 50's mother and wife, she worked over 40 hours a week, took care of our dad, cooked meals from scratch, cleaned a home and raised two daughters. She also paid all the bills, nursed everyone through their illnesses and made sure her own mother was taken care of. She's a tough cookie and still here at 90, taking care of her home, nursing all of us, and still making the best chicken soup and pasta in the world!

MT Graves Entertained US Kids in Miami As videoholic showed us, nothing quite compares to those local television shows. In Miami in the 50's and 60's we had Charlie Baxter, a newscaster, who had fun playing ghoulish 'MT Graves' down in his dungeon every Saturday afternoon on WCKT Channel 7. The program began with the cell door rising up to the sounds of screeching and squeaking and a loud clank. In the background, eerie music played, and human screaming and shrieking could be heard. M.T. climbed out of the coffin to greet his viewers at the beginning of each program, and climbed back into it at the end, saying his greetings and farewells to his fans. My dad, who did painting for several TV stations back then, took me with him one Saturday and I got to sit in the audience. What a thrill that was! It just goes to show that it doesn't take much to entertain a kid.

Dave Garroway on Whats My Line The first host of NBC's Today Show, Dave Garroway, appears as a mystery challenger on What's My Line in 1953. (It's sad to realize that the genial Mr. Garroway was a lifelong sufferer of depression who took his own life in 1982.)

Stanley Cup The coolest trophy in sports is the Stanley Cup. The Cup was originally the silver bowl that is atop the present trophy. It was purchased for about $50 by Lord Stanley of Preston, the Governor-General of Canada, and was intended to be awarded annually to the amateur hockey champions of Canada. It was first presented in 1893 to the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association club. Professional teams were openly allowed to compete for it starting in 1909. The National Hockey League took permanent possession of it in 1926. Over the years it's had its share of adventures and misadventures: The Stanley Cup has been used as a flower pot, dropkicked into Ottawa's Rideau Canal, left on a Montreal street corner, and used as an exotic dancer's prop in a New York City strip joint.
