Dewey Martin, the muscular, gregarious drummer and singer who helped found the pioneering country rock band Buffalo Springfield with Neil Young and Stephen Stills, has died. He was 68.
Martin was found dead Sunday by a roommate in his Van Nuys apartment, longtime friend Lisa Lenes said. She said Martin had health problems in recent years and she believed he died of natural causes.

The 60's gave birth to some great musicals. Director George Sidney began and ended his film of BYE BYE BIRDIE with a title song (that wasn't in the Broadway show), in order to showcase Ann-Margret. Amazingly, this woman looks almost the same today. I just don't know how they do it.

These are the opening and closing credits for the CBS sitcom The Governor and J.J. The show ran from September 23, 1969 to December 30, 1970. It starred Dan Dailey as Governor William Drinkwater, a widower, and Julie Sommars, as his daughter J.J. (Jennifer Jo) who served as his official hostess when she was not working at the zoo. It was one of the few 1960s sitcoms that was filmed before a live audience. It is mostly remembered today as the answer to a TV trivia question: What sitcom was replaced midway through the 1970-71 season by All in The Family?
