Pitfall Alex Trebek hosted this game show that was taped in Vancouver and later became infamous. The producers of Pitfall had big plans for this syndicated show, assuming it would get picked up by a multitude of American stations. It didn't, and many winners never collected their prizes. Alex also got stiffed. Last I heard he had never received a penny for his work as host and is still bitter about being stiffed by fellow Canadians.

Featured Member - Ray- Original YouTube Introductory Video March 2007 To introduce myself to this site...let me start with my original Introductory Video, produced for YouTube, from March of 2007. This pretty much describes me and my involvement in home video. But collecting videos is only one of my facets...I have been collecting pop songs on audiotape since the 1960s (I have a reel-to-reel collection that is in essence a history of Cleveland radio during the 1960s), I have a newspaper collection that I'm trying to sell, and have about 750 45's that I'm still trying to figure out what to do with! I also learned how to become somewhat computer-savvy....I have published two websites (one devoted to my precious Betamax video format, it's at betainfoguide.net, the other devoted to one of the most popular Top 40 AM stations ever to hit Cleveland, WIXY-1260 - that site is at www.wixy1260.com). I am originally from Cleveland but lived in Las Vegas for 4 1/2 wonderful years in the mid-90s, and hope to get back there someday....permanently. Most of my working life has been spent in retail, mainly the restaurant business, although now I'm working at New York Frozen Foods baking bread! I love to meet people with common interests, which is why I'm here; plus I have 7 active channels on YouTube! I married a wonderful Japanese lady in 1980 and we'll soon be celebrating 30 years of married bliss! Take care, and let me hear from you!

MT Graves Entertained US Kids in Miami As videoholic showed us, nothing quite compares to those local television shows. In Miami in the 50's and 60's we had Charlie Baxter, a newscaster, who had fun playing ghoulish 'MT Graves' down in his dungeon every Saturday afternoon on WCKT Channel 7. The program began with the cell door rising up to the sounds of screeching and squeaking and a loud clank. In the background, eerie music played, and human screaming and shrieking could be heard. M.T. climbed out of the coffin to greet his viewers at the beginning of each program, and climbed back into it at the end, saying his greetings and farewells to his fans. My dad, who did painting for several TV stations back then, took me with him one Saturday and I got to sit in the audience. What a thrill that was! It just goes to show that it doesn't take much to entertain a kid.

sugarloaf dont call us well call you 1975-This song "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You" is notable because it contained a practical joke at the expense of CBS Records, which had just turned them down for a recording contract. The song includes the sound of a touch-tone telephone number being dialed near the beginning and ending of the song. Those numbers were an unlisted phone number at CBS Records and a public number at the White House respectively. In addition, the recording includes snippets of the guitar riff of The Beatles' "I Feel Fine," Stevie Wonder's "Superstition," and a line of dialogue from Wolfman Jack stating the call sign of a radio station.
