In 1932 Babe Ruth appeared in a series of short films designed to teach baseball fundamentals and promote the sport. In Fancy Curves, the Babe teaches the finer points of the game to a group of sorority sisters. I'm sure the Babe enjoyed the female companionship of the babes.

Smokey Robinson and The Miracles 'Shop Around', The Supremes 'Where Did Our Love Go'. Followed by the finale, 'Mickey's Monkey', with Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, and everyone else joining in: The Supremes, The Temptations, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Stevie Wonder, Dusty Springfield. With the Earl Van Dyke Sextet. From the Ready Steady Go (RSG), Sound Of Motown TV special, recorded at the Rediffusion TV studios in London on 18 March 1965. This special was mainly Dusty Springfield's idea, to promote the Motown music and artists in Britain. Dusty was an occasional presenter of the weekly Ready Steady Go (which had the tag line... The Weekend Starts Here). She was a big fan of Motown music, and suggested the idea for this special to Vicki Wickham, recording artists manager, and RSG's producer at Rediffusion.

A Rare black and white promo from 1962.
"The Jetsons," aired on prime time after 16 months in development, was set in 2062, 100 years after the first episode was broadcast.
Supposedly, the series had no chance at survival, because it was scheduled opposite "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" and "Dennis the Menace," which had both built up an audience in previous seasons.
However, ABC continued to show the original 24 episodes of "The Jetsons" for 15 years!
The laugh track was removed when Worldvision syndicated these episodes in 1985. Episode title cards were added to all of the Jetsons shows, old and new, and a remake of the old Jetsons theme song was employed for use.

The crazy setting Glover first did on Letterman that Sophia posted earlier made me take a deeper look. Crispin hints that it could have been a look-alike on the show then and not really him. Thats when Letterman cuts him off and goes to the record Crispin was promoting, "Clowny Clown Clown". I found it as well, it's weird, I don't feel clean, now.

Babe Ruth was never too busy to publicize a cause. Here is a photo circa 1923 showing the Bambino promoting the Girl Guides' annual cookie sale. (Look at the size of the cookie in the Babe's mouth! I don't remember them ever being that big!)
