Neil Young was nominated for an Oscar in 1994 for his song "Philadelphia" from the film Philadelphia (Bruce Springsteen ended up winning the award for his song "Streets of Philadelphia" from the same film). In his acceptance speech, Springsteen said that "the award really deserved to be shared by the other nominee's song." That same night, Tom Hanks accepted the Oscar for Best Actor and gave credit for his inspiration to the song "Philadelphia". He is part owner of Lionel, LLC, a company that makes toy trains and railroads. Young is also an inventor, and has been named as co-inventor of seven U.S. Patents related to model trains.

Recorded on the German show Wetten Dass. Lionel sings his classic song Hello, after breathing in Helium. I prefer the original oxygen version! According to Wiki, Wetten Dass is the most popular TV show in Europe.

The cast included a series of top names: Greta Garbo, Lionel Barrymore, John Barrymore, Joan Crawford, Wallace Beery, Lewis Stone and Jean Hersholt; and, the film opens and closes with Lewis Stone's totally unaware statement: "Grand Hotel. People come and go. Nothing ever happens". The comment turns out to be ironic during the few days in which the plot unfolds, because everything seems to be happening at the hotel, from romance to robbery to an accidental death...

...For what you are about to receive may the Lord make you truly Thankful. AMEN - Food, Glorious Food was written by Lionel Bart, is the opening song from the musical and movie Oliver! It is sung when the workhouse boys are dreaming and fantasizing about food while going to collect their gruel from the staff of the workhouse.

My favorite songs are ballads. Here's Lionel Richie from a live concert in 2000, he sounds great.
