Sugar Ray Leonard was at the peak of his abilities in February 1982 when he dispatched Bruce Finch in three rounds in Reno, Nevada to retain his world welterweight championship. Ray was the best fighter I've seen in my three decades of watching the sweet science. He had no weaknesses.

Does anyone else remember this wonderful song? I loved all these tearjerkers...still do.
The Monarchs were a very popular local group that traveled extensively to promote their records. They appeared on the Alan Freed TV show and appeared in concert with national groups such as The Beach Boys, The Four Seasons, Glen Campbell and Del Shannon to name a few. The group members were Leon Middleton, Dusty Miller, Ernie Donnell, Butch Snider, Mike Gibson, Jim Wells, Louie Lange and Bob Lange. "Look Homeward Angel" was released in January 1964 on the Soundstage 7 label.

Titanic struck an iceberg on April 14, 1912, and sank two hours and forty minutes later on April 15, 1912.
The sinking resulted in the deaths of more than 1,500 people, ranking it as one of the worst peacetime maritime disasters in history and by far the most famous.

This is a re-creation of the execution of Leon Czolgosz. Czolgosz was a self-styled anarchist who shot president William McKinley at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York on September 6, 1901. McKinley, struck twice at point-blank range, died of his wounds eight days later. There was swift justice in those days: Czolgosz's trial took place on September 23. It lasted a little more than eight hours. Czolgosz was convicted of murder and sentenced to die in the electric chair in Auburn, New York on October 29. Thomas Edison's company filmed this re-creation of the execution based on the testimony of witnesses.
