On September 17, 2007, U.S. Senator John Kerry addressed a Constitution Day forum at the University of Florida in Gainesville, which was organized by the ACCENT Speakers Bureau, an agency of the university's student government. Initially allowed to ask questions after the close of the question period, Andrew Meyer, a 21-year-old fourth-year undergraduate mass communication student, entered into a planned line of questioning and was forcibly pulled away from the microphone. He immediately resisted the campus security and was subsequently arrested by university police. During arrest, the officers asked him repeatedly to stop resisting, but Meyer continued to struggle and scream for help. While six officers held Meyer down[1] one of the officers drive stunned him with a Taser following Meyer's shouted plea to the police, "Don't tase me, bro!" The video became a popular viral hit.

i would much rather celebrate the life and beauty of Sharon Tate than focus on the terrible end of her life. . . she made just a few films during her brief career, including DON'T MAKE WAVES (1967; with Tony Curtis and Dave Draper), EYE OF THE DEVIL (1967; with Deborah Kerr),and my personal favorite VALLEY OF THE DOLLS (1967; with Susan Hayward and Patty Duke), and THE WRECKING CREW (1969; with Dean Martin and Tina Louise). She was only 26 years old when she was murdered in August 1969. BEVERLY HILLBILLIES fans will recall Tate from her recurring role as Janet Trego from 1963 to 1965...

"In Dreams" is a song composed and sung by American rock and roll performer, Roy Orbison.
An operatic ballad of lost love, it was released as a 45rpm single on Monument Records in February 1963. The song's opening line refers to "A candy-colored clown they call the Sandman". The Sandman is a character in Hans Christian Andersen's children stories who brings sleep and dreams by sprinkling magic sand onto the sleeping.
It became the title track on the album In Dreams, released July 1963, and also appears on his 1989 posthumous album A Black & White Night Live from the 1988 HBO television special.
"In Dreams" was used famously in an infamous whorehouse scene in David Lynch's Blue Velvet (1986). An effeminate drug dealer, played by Dean Stockwell, lip synchs the song at the insistence of a sadistic criminal played by Dennis Hopper. Later, Hopper's character utters the lines "In dreams I talk to you... in dreams you're MINE - all the time!" as he threatens Kyle Maclachlan's character. The song also appeared in and provided the title for Neil Jordan's 1999 psychological thriller In Dreams.
If the structure of a standard pop song is ABABCAB (verse-chorus, verse-chorus, bridge, verse-chorus), then the structure of "In Dreams" is ABCDE: the lyrics "A candy-colored clown," "I close my eyes," "In dreams I walk with you," "But just before the dawn," and "It's too bad that all these things" all introduce sections of new musical material that are not repeated.
In 1988, songwriters Will Jennings and Richard Kerr wrote a response to "In Dreams", called "In The Real World", which Orbison recorded for his 1989 album Mystery Girl.
In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine named "In Dreams" as one of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time."

Casey Kasem, the man behind one of the most famous voices on radio and television from the '70s through the 2000s, has died after a long battle with Parkinson's and dementia. He was 82.
Kasem was best known as the host of American Top 40, the weekly countdown show that he co-founded in 1970 and hosted from 1970 through 1989.
His final years were somewhat tragic. He struggled with the effects of Parkinson's disease, while his second wife, 59-year-old actress Jean Kasem, publicly feuded with his three adult children, including radio personality Kerri Kasem, over visitation rights with their ailing father.
