. . .and, i was just saying that i 'didn't get' the fascination with Cabbage Patch Dolls!! but i loved these!
"Troll dolls, originally known as Leprocauns and also known as Dam dolls, Wishniks, Treasure Trolls, and Norfins, became one of America's biggest toy fads beginning in the autumn of 1963, and lasting throughout 1965. With their brightly colored hair and cute faces, they were featured in both Life Magazine and Time Magazine in articles which commented on the "good luck" they would bring to their owners."

personally, i wouldn't think that 'douche' and 'lysol' should even be in the same sentence!!! but, i got a kick out of all these old ads that show men leaving their wives because the women don't douche correctly. Or often enough.

M'm M'm Good, M'm M'm Good, That's what Campbell's soup is M'm M'm Good. The Campbell soup kids appeared in commercials produced for highly rated shows as Lassie, and promoted their wholesomeness in ads touting the slogan.

Here’s one of many examples of our country's ‘hometown’ moral support ads during WWII. This one features a Lockheed P-38 Lightning. This ad appeared in Life Magazine and Popular Mechanics in 1942. Go get’em Maj. Richard Bong! (Richard Ira Bong was America's all-time Ace of Aces, downing 40 enemy planes in the Pacific theater of the war while flying P-38 fighter planes. Bong was killed August 6, 1945, the day the Enola Gay dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, when the P-80 Shooting Star he was testing for Lockheed stalled and crashed on take-off.)

It's been a while since we have made any changes to the site. I'm honored when so many come here on a daily and weekly basis and the friendships that have been made. It leads me to believe there can be more done here to foster these friendships. What do you recommend?
