Tierney married twice. Her first marriage to costume and fashion designer Oleg Cassini on July 11, 1941 ended in divorce on February 28, 1952. Her second marriage was to Texas oilman, W. Howard Lee on July 11, 1960 until his death on February 17, 1981.
trivia! During the filming of Dragonwyck, she met a young John F. Kennedy, who was visiting the set. They began a romance that ended the following year, when Kennedy told her he could never marry her because of his political ambitions.

Another great show from ABC, which ran from 1981 to 1983, and starred William Katt, Robert Culp, and Connie Sellecca. I guess you could call it a superhero drama-comedy. I loved the theme song, and drove my kids crazy singing it all the time lol

Another tear jerker, folks. On a 1981 appearance on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Stewart read a poem about his dog. It brought laughs and tears.

One of the best sports songs ever written! (I was really tempted to slot this clip into the 1950s since it is mainly about that decade's three great outfielders. But Terry Cashman recorded it in 1981, so the 1980s is where it rightfully belongs.)

The lovely Meg Ryan is instantly recognizable in this 1981 commercial for Aim toothpaste. (Whoever Jack Read is, I'm jealous of him.)

NEW YORK - Singer Teresa Brewer, who topped the charts in the 1950s with hits like "Till I Waltz Again with You," and performed with jazz legends Count Basie and Duke Ellington, died Wednesday. She was 76. This is a clip from her 1981 concert.
Brewer died at her New Rochelle home of a neuromuscular disease, said family spokesman Bill Munroe. Her four daughters were at her bedside.
Brewer had scores of hits in the 1950s and a burgeoning film career, but she pared down her public life to raise her children. She re-emerged a decade later to perform with jazz greats Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie and Wynton Marsalis.
