Tim McCarver is great--although he is often accused of bing a Yankee shill.

The best radio announcer in baseball is still Vin Scully, who'll be 82 years old later this year. I tune into Dodgers games on MLB radio just to listen to his voice.

I think Tim McCarver is an outstanding, well informed and entertaining announcer. I think many though will agree the best announcers were and still are on the radio for baseball or most sports for that matter.

Joe Garagiola is still with us at age 83. The glory days of baseball broadcasting (in my opinion) were the heyday of NBC's Game of the Week with Joe, Tony Kubek, and Curt Gowdy.
