2000s / Corpse of King Tut
On November 4, 2007, the remains of Egypt's King Tut were exposed to the public for the first time. To ensure its preservation, archaeologists decided to remove the corpse from its stone sarcophagus and move it to a climate-controlled crypt in the Valley of the Kings. The transfer occurred exactly 85 years to the day that Tut's tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. ![]()
