1930s & Earlier / Gloria Swanson in STAGE STRUCK 1925
The Chicago-born daughter of an army officer, she became the wife of Wallace Beery who talked Mack Sennett into hiring her along with him in 1916. She became a top silent film star and later came out of retirement in 1950 to virtually star as herself in the classic "Sunset Boulevard."
