1960s / Dear Brigitte - Cameo Appearance
Dear Brigitte was a 1965 family comedy movie starring James Stewart and Billy Mumy. Stewart plays slightly absent-minded poet/poetry professor Robert Leaf, a man who has no love for anything scientific. His eight-year-old son Erasmus (Mumy) is the opposite of his father--a math prodigy with little talent for anything artistic. Erasmus, apparently more worldly than the average eight-year-old, is obsessed with French movie star Brigitte Bardot. He spends every cent he can acquiring airmail stamps so he can write fan letters to her. (At one point in the film, two college students enlist Erasmus's expertise in math to win at the race track. They pay him for his services in postage stamps!) This is the climactic scene where Erasmus gets to meet Bardot in France.
