Public Reaction to JFK Assassination Here's an interesting NBC news clip. It was filmed on a New York City street less than two hours after John F. Kennedy had been killed in Dallas. Three average citizens share their thoughts.

To me, the most startling part of this clip to is how well-spoken these people are. In a usual man-on-the-street interview today, the typical person being interviewed can't put three coherent sentences together.

I have a feeling they were screened before hand.

Could be, Steve. Maybe in 1963 they weeded out the ill-informed and ill-mannered people. Today they seem to seek them out.

Good point Lava. It could very well be because the media today thinks that the ill-informed and ill-mannered are much more interesting to have on camera, which doesn't say much for the media, but then that's another story.

'A gentleman came to an office in which I was transacting business.' Can you imagine anybody beginning an answer in such an eloquent manner nowadays? No? Neither can I!
