From December 27, 1953, Steve Allen appears as a mystery challenger on What's My Line. A former WML panelist, he had recently left the show to work for NBC.

Steve Allen was one of television's most versatile and busiest performers. He, of course, became the first host of NBC's Tonight Show in 1954. When the show celebrated its 40th anniversary in 1994, Allen made an appearance. Jay Leno genuflected and kissed Allen's hand.

He was quite a song writer as well, having wrote over 10,000 songs.
