Nobody knows who has the home run ball. According to an expert from the Antiques ROadshow, if it could be absolutely authenticated (which is virtually impossible) it would wasily sell for over $1 million at a sports memorabilia auction.

People forget that Bobby Thomson personally redeemed himself in this game. Earlier in that game Thomson had made an error and committed a ridiculous baserunning gaffe that took the Giants out of an inning.

Who would have thought that just six years later both the Giants and Dodgers would leave town?

A couple of months ago I read an excellent book titled Miracle Ball. the author Brian Biegel tries to track down Bobby Thomson's home run ball. He establishes an interesting (although unproven) theory about who got the ball and why it remained a secret. I highly recommend it.
