Tufty the squirrel was a 60's & early 70's public information films to teach children the dangers of the roads. These were shown on TV and in the cinemas. There was also a Tufty club which as a child, I was a member of, which entitled you to wear a Tufty badge and receive monthly magazines with all of Tufty's stories. Later replaced by the Green Cross Man, played by the actor who portrayed Darth Vader In the first three Star Wars films, Dave Prowse.

Where in the world have I seen this before??? It was broadcast on US television, I'm thinking that Captain Kangaroo aired portions of it on his show in the 60's. Who was the narrator, she soundsd so familiar.

It was narrated by Bernard Cribbens. I can understand you thinking he's female as this was the time when pronounced ENGLISH was the only accent allowed for these types of broadcast. Or as I would say, speaking with marbles in ones mouth.
