LONG AND WINDING ROAD McCartney wrote this song at his farm in Scotland, and was inspired by the growing tension between himself, Lennon, Starr, and Harrison. McCartney said later: 'I just sat down at my piano in Scotland, started playing and came up with that song, imagining it was going to be done by someone like Ray Charles. I have always found inspiration in the calm beauty of Scotland and again it proved the place where I found inspiration.' It became The Beatles' last #1 song in the United States on June 13th, 1970, and was their last real single.

I had the good fortune of living very near the McCartney Farm at Campbeltown Scotland for 3 years. The farm house was off the main road a few miles on a long and winding road through beautiful rolling green hills, dotted with white sheep, ending at a small lake.

I first listened to this song when I was shopping for utv off road products as I was planning to compete in the tournament. This song becomes my regular favorite while riding the UTV.
