Your right Old Fart. Even here in the UK. it meant, Christmas had arrived. By way of a side question, did this show have something called the Cookie Monster in it ?

I always liked Andy Williams, he was such a nice guy.

In 1961, He met his first wife, Claudine Longet, when he pulled over to help her while she was stuck on a Las Vegas road. She was a dancer at the time at the Folies Bergère. They married on Christmas Day, 1961, and had three children. They separated in 1969 and finally divorced six years later.

In 1976, Longet was charged with fatally shooting her lover, skier Vladimir Spider Sabich and Williams supported her. Only a really nice guy would do that!
