Now I know my dad was right. When Mom would tell him to get rid of all the old junk in the garage, he'd tell her that some day it'd be worth alot of money, but just to keep her quiet he did as she asked. To think, I could have been rich!!

We had an aluminum Christmas Tree with the color wheel that came with it. It was a pain to put it together.

Very Cool. Would love to go to Manitowac Wisconsin. Here in Michigan, theres a Ferry SS Badger that takes cars over across Lake Michigan from Ludington Takes about 3 hrs. Someday gonna do.

I think the reason was also they were a electrical hazard if a wire was frayed it touched and could create a fire.aluminum conducts. On older car fuses we used Marlboro's inner wrapper to complete the circuit by wrapping the fuse.no one remembers doing that with the fusible link on their 8-track players? Temporarily.

good old Manitowac. Just down the road from me here in Green Bay.

We also had an aluminum tree growing up but sadly it was did away with when they decided the attic needed to be cleaned out.

Wrapping a fuse with foil? Yep I did my share of that or would even cut the fuse holder out and wrap the two wires together. My old 1975 Lincoln had an 8-track player in it which I used into the early 1990's until the car died on me. Ah the memories!!!
