We referred to station wagons with the wood paneling as cars with crates.

At that time of my life station wagons didn't figure into the picture at all. In '65 I bought my first car from my brother - '64 Chevelle SS. He was drafted and needed to unload it.

Dad had a Chevy Kingswood, no wood look, turquoise paint, but... rear-facing seat!! Would never open it much, tho... needed room for all the groceries mom would get at the store!
