1970s Koolaid Commercial This is a tv commercial from the 70s. The girl looks like the girl who played Nancy on Little House on the Prairie (the replacement brat when Nellie grew up and was married).

To this day I don't drink pop. I grew up on Kool Aid. My Mom always kicked it down a notch with the sugar.

Anyone remember calling this - 'poly-pop?'

What does the poly part mean?

In the 50s here in Texas we didn't call Kool-Aid, only Poly-Pop. I guess it was a colloquial thing. In other words, a non-carbonated drink substitute that many here enjoyed.

The only nickname for Kool-Aide I've ever known is bug juice. We called it that in the Navy and I know it's called that by many campers.

Kind of like being at the Apple Cider Mill. Those pesky Bees. Looking for that sugar.

Marty I don't know what the poly part means. I have been searching but to no avail. I guess it was a local Texas 'thang.'
