Lake's biggest year in films was 1942, when she starred in a string of hit films for Paramount, including Sullivan's Travels, This Gun for Hire, and I Married a Witch... i saw here in "I Married A Witch" and she was GREAT. . really tiny, too. . .i wondered if this is where they got the idea for "Bewitched."

The story tells of the childhood of Damien Thorn, who was switched at birth with the murdered child of a wealthy American diplomat. Damien's family is unaware that he is actually the offspring of Satan and destined to become the Antichrist. . this 1976 thriller starred Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, and David Warner. . . but scariest of all (for me) was the music!!

i LOVED bewitched soooo much as a kid and 'witch' ha! i would find re-runs of it today. . . i also loved the 'chemistry' between Abner (played by George Tobias) and Gladys Kravitz!

Holy Hotdogs Batman! Aurora Plastics Corporation put out a line of model kits base on D.C. and Marvel Superhero Comic Book Characters. This is the original version kit. Aurora was the leader in producing all plastic figure assembly kits. I stripped off all of the old gloss paint (remember Testor's glossy enamel paint?) and put putty into the seams that I was able to do without losing detail and repainted the kit using acrylic paints. Acrylic paints make the kits look more realistic. This kit shows Robin pulling the switch on some type of evil machine while beakers of chemicals spill onto the floor!

A wonderful mmachine that was one of the first to introduce electronic switching to replace the older, manually operated levers. Still working great!

It may have been a desirable job but it was not an easy one. Telephone companies had strict rules for all aspects of operators' behavior on the job. Merely to get the job, a woman had to pass height, weight, and arm length tests to ensure that she could work in the tight quarters afforded switchboard operators. Operators had to sit with perfect posture for long hours in straight-backed chairs. They were not permitted to communicate with each other.
