In the Year 2525" hit number one on the pop charts in 1969. It claimed the #1 spot for six weeks, a remarkable achievement. It also topped the charts in the UK. Coincidentally, it was number one on July 20, 1969 in the USA, the date of the first manned moon landing by astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. It was nominated for a special Hugo Award that same year.

Davis had his first American Top 10 single with the slow ballad "I Go Crazy," which peaked at #7 in 1978. "I Go Crazy" spent 40 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, which at the time set the single-song record for most consecutive weeks on the chart in the rock era.
He died April 2008. They don't make songs like these these days. Great song!

Hello Goodbye is a 1967 song. It was the Christmas single for 1967, and topped the charts in both the United States and Britain where it spent seven weeks at number one. The song also appeared on the British 'Magical Mystery Tour' EP, as well as the American Magical Mystery Tour LP, which was later adopted as the official UK version of the album.
Though the songwriting credit is Lennon/McCartney, it was written only by Paul McCartney.

Back in 2006, late-night talk show host Conan O'Brien learned he closely resembled Finland's president Tarja Halonen. After using this for laughs for a few weeks, it was only natural that O'Brien would be invited to tour the Scandanavian country. It was a huge success!

In April 1991, TV icon Michael Landon was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer. A month later, on May 9, 1991, Landon was in high spirits when he made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show. He died seven weeks later. I apologize for the poor quality of the clip, but it's worth watching.

Here's a treat for you NFL fans: the first 10 minutes of NBC's broadcast of the 1978 AFC Championship game between the visiting Houston Oilers and host Pittsburgh Steelers. The game was played on January 7, 1979 in miserable conditions at Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Stadium. Cold rain, huge puddles, and partially frozen artificial turf made this contest difficult for both teams. The Steelers won the game 34-5 and then beat Dallas 35-31 in Super Bowl XIII two weeks later.
