John Lennon and May Pang During an off period with Yoko Ono, John Lennon spent 18 months romantically involved with his assistant, May Pang (Lennon referred to this period as "THE LOST WEEKEND). They recorded songs and created collaborative art. . . Yoko is the one who pused this relationship . .since John and she were not getting along . . she told Pang that he was attracted to her and would end up with "someone" . . . .

Walter Johnson One of my all-time favorite baseball players: Walter Johnson of the Washington Senators. The scouting report on Johnson's blazing fastball noted, 'You can't hit what you can't see.' Once Johnson pitched three complete-game shutouts in a single weekend. For years his lifetime total of 3,508 strikeouts seemed insurmountable. Johnson retired in 1927. It took nearly 50 years for another pitcher to reach 3,000 strikeouts. Johnson became a beloved baseball figure--largely because he had the misfortune to spend his entire career with the lowly Senators. In 1924, when Johnson finally got to pitch in a World Series at age 36, the public rejoiced when he won the seventh and decisive game to give Washington its only World Series triumph.

Sam Sheppard Murder Case 1954 This 1997 investigative report deals with the famous murder case in which a 30-year-old Cleveland, Ohio doctor, Sam Sheppard, was convicted of murdering his 31-year-old wife, Marilyn, on the Fourth of July weekend in 1954. Marilyn was bludgeoned to death in her bed while her husband was supposedly napping in front of the TV one floor below. Sheppard claimed he was roused by shouts coming from the upstairs bedroom and was twice knocked out by a bushy-haired intruder. Sheppard was quickly accused by the media. He was found guilty by a jury, served a decade in prison, and then had his conviction overturned in a new trial in 1966. He died a broken man in 1970. Was Sam Sheppard guilty? Suffice to say his original conviction has been hotly debated by crime buffs ever since.
