Braveheart 1995 Putting politics and any media circuses aside, this was a great film from the 90's, based on the legend of William Wallace, who gained recognition when he came to the forefront of the First War of Scottish Independence by opposing Edward I of England and subsequently abetted by Edward's daughter-in-law Princess Isabelle and a claiment to the Scottish throne, Robert the Bruce.

Sharon Tate i would much rather celebrate the life and beauty of Sharon Tate than focus on the terrible end of her life. . . she made just a few films during her brief career, including DON'T MAKE WAVES (1967; with Tony Curtis and Dave Draper), EYE OF THE DEVIL (1967; with Deborah Kerr),and my personal favorite VALLEY OF THE DOLLS (1967; with Susan Hayward and Patty Duke), and THE WRECKING CREW (1969; with Dean Martin and Tina Louise). She was only 26 years old when she was murdered in August 1969. BEVERLY HILLBILLIES fans will recall Tate from her recurring role as Janet Trego from 1963 to 1965...

Even Sex Kittens Grow Old Bridget Bardot has turned 73. Born September 28, 1934, she is a BAFTA Awards-nominated French actress, former fashion model, singer, known nationalist, animal rights activist, and considered the embodiment of the 1950s and 1960s sex kitten. In the 1970s after her retirement from the entertainment industry, Bardot established herself as an animal rights activist, which work she continues today. During the 1990s she was outspoken about her political views on such issues as immigration, Islam in France, miscegenation, and homosexuality. She is a sympathizer with the far right. So much for fantasies.

Price Is Right cheater This is just so wrong. A dim-witted Price Is Right contestant exposes the correct price in Flip-Flop. Amazingly, not only isn't he immediately disqualified, Bob Barker awards him the prize! Great lesson there, huh?

James Bonds Ms Moneypenny Lois Maxwell, who became so well-known for her performances as Ms Moneypenny in the James Bond films, has died. The Canadian-born actress starred alongside Sean Connery in the first James Bond movie, "Dr. No," in 1962 as the secretary to M, the head of the secret service.- but there's much more to her acting career than that. She started out against her parents will - and without their knowledge in a Canadian childrens radio program - credited as 'Robin Wells'. Before the age of 15 she left for England with The Canadian Army's Entertainment Corps and managed (after her age had been discovered) to get herself enrolled in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she met and became friends with Roger Moore. Her movie career started with a Warner production A Matter of Life and Death (1946). After having won The Most Promising Newcomer Golden Globe Award in 1947 she went on to participate in 6 Hollywood productions before she decided to try her luck in Italy. She had to leave for England because of her husband's illness, and since then she has had roles in a number of movies besides the first 14 Bond movies. In 1989 she retired. She died Saturday night at Fremantle Hospital near her home in Perth, Australia. Bond star, Roger Moore said she was suffering from cancer. She was 80.

I Remember Elie Weisel Dedicated to another famous Holocaust survivor, Nazi hunter and Nobel Peace Prize winner. Elie Wiesel was born at Sighet, Maramures county, Romania On September 30, 1928. He is the author of over 40 books, the best known of which is Night, a memoir that describes his experiences during the Holocaust and his imprisonment in several concentration camps. Wiesel was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986. The Norwegian Nobel Committee called him a "messenger to mankind," noting that through his struggle to come to terms with "his own personal experience of total humiliation and of the utter contempt for humanity shown in Hitler's death camps," as well as his "practical work in the cause of peace," Wiesel has delivered a powerful message "of peace, atonement and human dignity" to humanity. On November 30, 2006 Wiesel received an honorary knighthood in London, England in recognition of his work toward raising Holocaust education in the United Kingdom. Music "Hatikvah", (Israeli National Anthem) performed by Barbra Streisand. I'm thankful to be able to share this with you.

Gene Gene The Dancing Machine Eugene Patton, better known as Gene Gene The Dancing Machine, was a regular non-competing act on The Gong Show. Patton was an NBC stagehand. According to host Chuck Barris, Patton often danced backstage to the music of other acts. Barris thought Patton's style of dancing was amusing, so he persuaded Patton to dance on a show that was otherwise going to run a couple of minutes short. Strutting his stuff to a blended version of two Count Basie songs (Jumpin' at the Woodside and Two O'Clock Jump), the public reaction was favorable and Gene became a semi-regular. This clip shows an early appearance of Gene Gene the Dancing Machine because soon afterwards it became part of the shtick for Patton's fellow stagehands to litter the stage with an assortment of bizarre random objects: inflatable toys, sports equipment, clothing, furniture, mannequins, etc. (It was the 1970s. You had to be there.)
