Tyrone Power on Whats My Line From March 27, 1955, Tyrone Power appears as a mystery challenger on a very strange evening on What's My Line. Why was it so strange? Just to be different, Power arranged for the audience not to applaud when he entered. Also strange that night was the stunningly inept game play of panelist Wally Cox. Cox was so excruciatingly slow at questioning the contestants that he was never allowed on the panel again.

Jerry Mathers False Death Report Jerry Mathers, the iconic sitcom child from Leave It To Beaver, became the subject of an urban myth in 1969 when it was falsely reported that he had been killed in Vietnam. Mathers served in the Air National Guard but never left the United States. Apparently an American soldier with a similar name had been reported killed in action. Several news agencies wrongly reported that Beaver Cleaver had died in Vietnam. The inaccurate story got even more publicity when Shelley Winters appeared on The Tonight Show. During a chat with Johnny Carson she expressed sadness about Mathers' supposed demise. Tony Dow, who played Wally on Leave It To Beaver, sent flowers and a condolence note to the Mathers family. It took Mathers a few years to convince the public that he was alive and well.

Our Gang - Wally Albright Wally Albright began acting at age four. He made one appearance in an Our Gang comedy in 1932. In 1934 Hal Roach brought him in as an Our Gang regular to replace Dickie Moore. Albright's naturally blond hair and leadership qualities made him a natural as a key member of the troupe. His most famous Our Gang short was 'Washee Ironee' in which well-to-do Wally chose playing football with the gang over practising his violin. Much to Roach's surprise, Wally stayed with with Our Gang for only five short films before moving on to small roles in feature films. After his acting days ended, Albright became extremely successful in the California produce business. He was also a national skiing champion. He died a month before his 74th birthday in 1999. See? Not every Our Gang member died young, tragically or penniless.
