The Prisoner The Prisoner is a 1967 UK television series starring Patrick McGoohan as Englishman who, after resigning from his position as a top-level government agent, is held captive in a small, colourful village for reasons only hinted at to him (or viewers). Each episode typically features the imprisoned former agent, known as "Number Six", failing to escape "the Village", but resisting the interrogation and brainwashing attempts by his captors. Patrick McGoohan`s catch phrase became well known..."I am not a number — I am a free man!" i do not know if this hit the US tv`s

REMEMBERING MAMA CASS ELLIOTT Dream a Little Dream Cass Elliot was born Ellen Naomi Cohen on Sept 19th 1941. Her restauranteur father nicknamed her'Cass' after the Trojan princess, Cassandra. She adopted the name Cass Elliot during her teens. The name Mama Cass evolved from her involvement with the Mamas and Papas. This is what John Phillips said about Cass in an interview in August 1995 at Paramount Studios: "Her father had a deli in New York. I remember her as a little, chubby girl, with the stained apron on, behind the counter. [Laughs] We were sort of infamous in that area, and when she got to New York, she knew who we were, but we didn't know who she was. And she had met Denny, and Denny said, "I know this girl that sings wonderfully. We should have her over and sing with her." It happened to be that LSD was actually legal at the time. It wasn't a banned drug or anything. We searched all over the Village and found some contemporary artist who had some and he gave it to us. We were about to take it that night, when the knock on the door came and Cass came in. So we all had it together the same night, for the first time, and I think that formed a bond between the four of us that we just never stopped singing. We just went on and on and on and on, until the trip wore off, which was about four years later." Cass Elliott died July 29, 1974. Contrary to what many people have been led to believe over the years, she did not choke on a sandwich. According to her doctor, the cause was heart failure.

The Beast With Five Fingers 1946 Evil is running amok in an Italian village, mostly in the estate of a deceased pianist where murders begin to take place. What is this supposed evil?... The pianist's hand. This film was one of the earliest horror films to get favorable responses from critics and the public. I love watching Peter Lorre, he was always such a creepy little guy. When I was a kid, I watched this film with my big sister and it gave me nightmares.I always wondered if she did this on purpose because she was always stuck having to watch me when our parents worked!!

In The Brownies Continuing my quest to bring quirky UK. hits to the fore. Billy Connelly; comedy god to us Scots; Takes the tune In The Navy by the Village People, and turns it into something only us Brits could appreciate. The Brownies; by the way; are a girls organisation, a bit like the Scouts are for boys.

Im Gonna Be 500 Miles This is a Scottish duo who come from a village not too far from where I live. The Proclaimers were told at the start of their careers, that a group who sang, as they do, with a strong Scots accent wouldn't make it. How wrong could they have been? This song to my knowledge has been a hit in many countries and appears on many a soundtrack to a film along with a few other tracks they have recorded.
