Vic Morrow's first movie role was in Blackboard Jungle (1955). After this movie, he went into television and was cast in the TV series Combat! (1962-1967)Sadly, Vic Morrow is most famous now not for his life but for his death; together with two Vietnamese children, Morrow was killed in a still-controversial helicopter accident while filming on location for 1982's Twilight Zone: The Movie.

what a group of actors this show used during its five seasons!!! This episode was entitled "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" and starred William Shatner. . . as a newly released mental patient who is the only one able to see a gremlin ripping up the wing of his airliner...

For those old enough to remember, Night Gallery was created and hosted by the great god of imagination Rod Serling, as a follow-up to The Twilight Zone. The opening was set in a shadowy museum, where Serling unveiled a dark and disturbing collection of canvases as preface to a highly diverse anthology of tales in the fantasy, horror, and supernatural vein. The first story from the 1969 pilot of Night Gallery, entitled The Cemetery. A black sheep nephew (McDowell, naturally) murders his ailing uncle (George McReady) for the inheritance, only to find some disturbing changes in the old man's painting of the family graveyard. Some good acting as well from Ossie Davis. The night I first watched this I was all alone, mom was working late, dad was sleeping, and I was on the floor in front of the tv having the living daylights scared out of me. I just loved it!!

My very favorite Serling creation from 1983 starring Dan Aykroyd, Albert Brooks, Vic Morrow, John Lithgow and Burgess Meredith as the Narrator. Directed by Joe Dante, John Landis, George Miller and Steven Spielberg.

This was such a touching, inspiring, and classic story. The film from 1981, explored the often turbulent relationship a young woman shared with her father growing up, and the difficulties faced by a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage. Once you've seen it, it will always hold a special place in your heart.

In my opinion, one of the top series of this genre ever produced for television, the original TZ aired from 1959 to 1964. Rod Serling invited viewers to submit a script. He was flooded with over 14,000, and actually got around to reading 500 of them, but only two were any good, and he couldn't use them because they didn't fit with the format of the show. CBS originally wanted Orson Welles as the narrator/host, but the producers felt that he asked for too much money. I just can't imagine anyone but Rod Serling narrating this series, it was his baby from the start. He made up the phrase 'Fifth Dimension' to use in one season's opening narration, stating that he wanted to go one beyond the four known dimensions. A reporter once asked him what the fourth dimension was, (given the first three are length, width, and height). Serling supposedly answered, 'I don't know. Aren't there four?' Hey, if he thought so, that would have been good enough for me!

Similar in style to The Twilight Zone, though tending more toward hard science, space travel, time travel, and human evolution, it tried to examine in each show some form of the question, 'What is the nature of man?'. The Outer Limits was an anthology show in which each episode was a self-contained story, sometimes with a plot twist. In its original incarnation the show ran for two seasons from 1963 to 1965 in black-and-white. The original title was 'Please Stand By', but at the time, America was facing the Cuban Missile Crisis and the executives thought it might make people fearful of an air raid. This is why, later in the newer series when the show would cut to a commercial, the Control Voice said, "Please stand by." A tip-of-the-hat to the original series title.
