A classic Honeymooner's espisode where the Krandem's and the Norton's enter a costume contest and Norton gets called away on a sewer emergency right before they leave for the contest and arrives at the contest with seconds left in the judging wearing his sewer garb. Krandem thinks he has it in the bag and will win $50.00 with his Man from Space costume. You can guess the rest! I doubt you'll ever see something like The Honeymooner's again on TV due to the way Ralphy Boy treated poor Alice. This is my favorite epsisode and it is a Regular Riot! Comments like, Bang, Zoom, Pow, Right in the Kissah wouldn't cut it today, but as always, Ralph is always made to feel like a chump in the end and you'll usually hear him say, Baby, Yer da Greatest! Nuff' said, Hom-mi-na, Hom-mi-na!

Lucy Ricardo - a "Paris Original"?
Episode 147, "Lucy Gets a Paris Gown", originally aired on March 19, 1956. The Ricardos and the Mertzes are thrilled to be in Paris. As a special treat for Lucy and Ethel, Ricky snags coveted tickets for a Jacques Marcel fashion show. Of course, after seeing the designer’s clothes, Lucy vows that she will have a Jacques Marcel dress. When pleading fails, Lucy goes on a hunger strike. Ricky breaks down and buys the dress, but then discovers that Ethel is sneaking food to Lucy. As revenge, Ricky and Fred design burlap potato sack dresses, complete with Jacques Marcel labels and a horse’s feedbag hat for Lucy. The French designer sees Lucy and Ethel wearing the dresses at a café and Ricky confesses. In a hilarious final twist, Jacques Marcel steals the designs -- but the girls have destroyed their originals!

A disturbed celebrity magician finds himself at the mercy of his murderous dummy, Fats. Seeking refuge from his new found fame, he heads to the isolated mountain retreat run by his high school love, Peggy (Ann-Margret), in hopes of starting a new life; but finds that Fats has no intentions of letting him off so easy. A scene from Magic, with Corky (Tony Hopkins) and his dummy, Fats (voice of Tony) This is just one example of the versatility of this man's talent. He is truly an amazing man. And has the most gorgeous blue eyes I've ever seen!

when i posted the photo of a glamorous and radiant Frances Farmer, i became interested in her life and career. As Sophia stated, reports of her 'institutional life' are conflicting (i.e. whether or not she had indeed had a lobotomy). What was evident, however, was that she was repeatedly subjected to insulin shock therapy and “hydrotherapy.” Now illegal, this barbaric practice consisted of her being stripped naked and thrown into a tub of icy water for six to eight hours at a time. . .i didn't intend to blog on this, but was so horrified at the treatment of the mentally ill.. that i couldn't stand it!

Do you remember when he would patrol the neighborhood in his white uniform and cap and the kids would all run after his truck until he stopped to dispense his ice cream treats? My favorites were an Eskimo Pie or a Fudgesicle.. for only a dime!

Only one episode of Hogan's Heroes was ever shot in black-and-white: the pilot episode. Here is the introduction. You'll note a few changes from the later introductions. The pilot episode had a Russian character in it and Sergeant Carter was absent. Once the series began in earnest, the Russian character was ditched and replaced by Larry Hovis' Sgt. Carter. (Hovis had appeared in the pilot episode as a guest character.) This move actually better reflected reality. Russians captured by the Germans were not treated nearly as well as those from other Allied countries. There would have been no Russians in a Luftstalag.

The song "Treat Her Right" was released on September of 1965, by Roy Head and the Traits, which reached number 2 on the Pop and R&B charts. Although Roy Head was a white singer he recorded the song in an R&B style, and thus became part of the mid-60's blue-eyed soul movement that also included groups such as the Righteous Brothers and the Boxtops.

Remember when you went trick-or-treating as a kid, and there was always the neighbor that handed out the lame candy? In this ad for Snickers, you'll see what can happen when that very neighbor suddenly needs the help from some kids as he clings to the roof of his second story house after a Halloween un-decorating mishap. The message here is hell hath no fury like a surly trick-or-treater!
