What a cool song, even now it sounds just as good as when she first performed it. Bonnie Tyler was born Gaynor Hopkins on June 8, 1951 in Skewen in Wales. She is widely recognisable by her highly distinctive, husky voice. In 1977, Tyler underwent surgery to remove nodules on her vocal cords, resulting in her singing voice taking on a raspy quality. Her next hit single, a cover of "It's a Heartache" was taken from Tyler's second album. In spring of 1983 came the single "Total Eclipse of the Heart", written by Jim Steinman. The song was a worldwide smash and reached no.1 in no less than 18 countries including the UK, France, Australia, Japan, Germany, Canada, and the United States, where it remained at the top for 4 weeks. In September 2006, Tyler made her first appearance on U.S. television in many years, as she sang a duet of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" with actress and now singer Lucy Lawless on the Celebrity Duets.

This is Jocelyn Wildenstein. She's become something of a celebrity since her plastic surgery, having been on The Tonight Show several years ago, and she is actually known internationally as the Cat Woman. She made herself look like this in order to get her husband back, by getting numerous silicone injections in the cheeks, lips, and in the chin, had her eyes lifted and pulled back, and a rhynoplasty, the results were to resemble a cat-like figure. The plan to look like this backfired when her husband began an affair with a Russian Model.

The tallest man who ever lived was Robert Wadlow of Alton, Illinois. He was measured at an amazing 8 feet 11 inches just before his death in 1940. His enormous height was due to an overactive pituitary gland. Apparently surgery to correct the problem was deemed too risky. Wadlow's growth showed no signs of ever stopping. At age eight Wadlow stood 6-foot-2 and he was already taller and stronger than his father. At 13, when he was a Boy Scout, he was 7-foot-4. He attended college for one year until his size made such tasks as note-taking impossible. (His hands were too huge to manipulate a pen.) By the time he was 20, Wadlow needed special metal braces to support his legs. They inadvertently caused his death at age 21: One brace chafed Wadlow's leg causing an infection that led to a fatal case of blood poisoning. Wadlow's coffin was encased in cement to prevent grave robbers from stealing it.

This is just one of the sketches taken from a show called "Spitting Image" a satirical puppet show from the UK. This show was very popular in the 80's and 90's. Cruel it may be but it wasn't as bad as some tabloids would have you believe.

here is ME in a nutshell . . grew up in a small town in southwest Virginia . .went to the University of VA and got a degree in Psyc . . so, i decided to really use my degree and i managed restaurants for about 30 years: Charley's (not the chain . . Charley Sands, and ex-Pirates catcher opened up 3 in VA in Charlottesville, Roanoke and Richmond,Va . . i managed all three at one time or another. Also managed Applebees and Steak and Ale's throughout the south. Atlanta was favorite location and i lived there for 9 years. Ditched the restaurant business after my 'store' was robbed in Atlanta . .Moved back home to have back surgery (fusion) and met my sweet husband. We had gone to High School together and started talking again when i was walking 10 miles a day to get my back into shape. Taught school in my hometown for a few years (i went and got my Early Childhood Ed degree at GA STATE when i was in my late 30's . .pretty proud of that). Now, i work for my sister who is an attorney and at a national public opinion research firm part time . . gives me the time to look after my Mom who is in her 80's. . no kids, but love them and ALL animals, great and small. And, i adore my family . .WHEW

Here are some actresses who have aged so gracefully and remain beautiful through the years. Set to 'Only Time' by Enya. I believe only a few of them have had cosmetic surgery. Includes Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, Judi Dench, the Redgrave sisters, Tyne Daly, Shirley MacLaine, Candice Bergen, Katharine Hepburn, Joanne Wooward, Glenn Close, Mariette Hartley, Mary Tyler Moore, Julie Andrews, Susan Sarandon, Barbara Babcock, Cloris Leachman, and Goldie Hawn.
