Jane Russell . . . well, this is the still that made Jane Russell famous! . . from the Howard Huges production of The Outlaw" in 1941. . .and although the film was made in 1941, it wasn't released until two years later and then only on a limited basis due to the way the film portrayed Jane's assets. It was hard for the flick to pass the censorship board! Finally, the film gained general release in 1946. The film was a smash at the box-office...

Total Eclipse of the Heart What a cool song, even now it sounds just as good as when she first performed it. Bonnie Tyler was born Gaynor Hopkins on June 8, 1951 in Skewen in Wales. She is widely recognisable by her highly distinctive, husky voice. In 1977, Tyler underwent surgery to remove nodules on her vocal cords, resulting in her singing voice taking on a raspy quality. Her next hit single, a cover of "It's a Heartache" was taken from Tyler's second album. In spring of 1983 came the single "Total Eclipse of the Heart", written by Jim Steinman. The song was a worldwide smash and reached no.1 in no less than 18 countries including the UK, France, Australia, Japan, Germany, Canada, and the United States, where it remained at the top for 4 weeks. In September 2006, Tyler made her first appearance on U.S. television in many years, as she sang a duet of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" with actress and now singer Lucy Lawless on the Celebrity Duets.

Little Richard 1969 Little Richard was the originator and the architect of rock and roll. He exploded into the American consciousness in the mid-50's, and singlehandedly laid the foundation that established the rules for a new musical form. Tutti Frutti was his catalyst for success and led to an uninterrupted run of smash hits—"Tutti Frutti," "Long Tall Sally," "Rip It Up," "Lucille," "Jenny Jenny," "Keep A Knockin’", "Good Golly Miss Molly," "Ooh! My Soul"…By 1968, Little Richard had sold over 32 million records internationally. Driven by an incredible, hard-to-match energy which lends credence to his "wild man of rock ’n’ roll" image, Little Richard continues to tour extensively, delighting audiences with his unique blend of music and humor.

Debut of South Park 1997 In August 1997 the Comedy Central cable network debuted the animated series South Park. Its irreverent humor quickly became a smash hit, drawing TV audiences in the millions. Not everyone was enamored, though. South Park's frequent depiction of taboo subject matter, general toilet humor, accessibility to children viewers, disregard of decency standards, and portrayal of religion for comic effect have been the main sources for generating controversy and debate over the course of its run. No subject is off limits and people and policies from every political stripe have been skewered.

Cheap Trick Surrender 1978 Budokan brings success: 1978–1981 Not one of Cheap Trick's first three albums made it into the Top 40 in the United States. In Japan, however, all three albums became gold records. When Cheap Trick went to Japan to tour the country for the first time, in 1978, they were received with a frenzy reminiscent of Beatlemania. During this tour, on April 28, 1978, Cheap Trick recorded a live show for their loyal Japanese fans at the Nippon Budokan. When that show was released as a live album titled At Budokan in 1979, their American obscurity changed for good. In Japan, they have remained popular superstars, even to the present day, and in fact, have been often referred to in the Japanese press as the "American Beatles". At Budokan launched Cheap Trick into international stardom. Initially intended for release in Japan only,[3] the album went triple platinum in the United States and reached #26 on the Swedish music charts. The smash track was the live version of "I Want You to Want Me", a song originally released on In Color. It reached #7, and "Ain't That A Shame" peaked at #35.
