Dustys Trail Theme Song From the movie "The Wackiest Wagon Train in the West"(1976) ...which simply strung together three episodes of the not very popular "Gilligan's Island" remake "Dusty's Trail" (1973) Here's how it goes: Produced by Sherwood Schwartz, the creator of Gilligan's Island, this series took the character of Gilligan, changed his name to Dusty, placed him on a wagon train and dared him to try to find the west! They surrounded Dusty with very recognizable characters - The wagon master played by Forrest Tucker (Skipper); a rich couple, Ivor Francis and Lynn Wood (Mr. & Mrs. Howell); saloon girl Jeannine Riley (Ginger); school marm Lori Saunders (Mary Ann); and an engineer played by Bud Cort (Professor). With Dusty as guide, the wagon train wandered all over the place, and it was a sure bet that this group would never make its way west, in much the same way the castaways were never able to get off the island thanks to the lovable, well-meaning Gilligan...Starring: Bob Denver - Dusty, Forrest Tucker - Wagonmaster Callahan, also Co-starring: Ivor Francis - Mr. Carson Brookhaven, Lynn Wood - Mrs. Brookhaven, Jeannine Riley - Lulu McQueen, Lori Saunders - Betsy, Bill Cort - Andy

Man Catches Bullet Between His Teeth This clip is an excerpt from an old 50's TV program called 'You Asked For It', a popular human-interest show that originally aired on TV between 1950-59. On the show, viewers were asked to send in postcards describing something that they wanted to see on television, such as the reenactment of William Tell shooting an apple off his son's head. (1950 US National Archery Champion Stan Overby performed the feat, shooting an apple off his assistant's head.) Short film clips were also presented, with the selections based upon viewer requests. As a consequence, many of the clips were presented multiple times. Some of the more popular clips included a tour of the bizarre Winchester Mystery House and the collapse of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The program was named 'The Art Baker Show', after the series creator and host. In April 1951, the show's title was changed to 'You Asked For It'. Originally airing on the cash-strapped DuMont Network from December 1950 to December 1951, it moved to ABC, where it remained until the end of its original run in September 1959. The show was sponsored by Skippy peanut butter and Studebaker Automobiles. I remember watching this series as a kid, but if I'd seen this show it would have definitely stood out in my memory! No way did this man perform this 'feat', but it sure must have left kids wondering back then..he probably had the bullet already in his mouth and the officer was shooting blanks...duh..I mean..shooting a real bullet almost point blank into a man's face on live tv is going to be messy, to say the least..

The Blues Image Ride Captain Ride Sending this one out to SWEETS50. "Ride Captain Ride" is a song recorded by the American rock band Blues Image. The song was co-written by the band's singer-guitarist Mike Pinera and keyboardist Frank "Skip" Konte. It was included on the group's 1970 album, Open. Released as a slightly shortened single in the spring of 1970, it shot up the charts, eventually reaching #4, making it Blues Image's first (and only) chart hit. The tasty clean guitar fills and main solo were performed by Kent Henry. Mike Pinera plays the rocking guitar solo at the end of the song.

Our Gang - Jackie Cooper The most successful member of the Our Gang troupe as far as post-Gang achievements in Hollywood was Jackie Cooper. He joined the Gang in 1929 at age seven, making his first appearance in 'Boxing Gloves.' He was the best of the troupe at adapting to the new sound technology. His most famous Our Gang roles have him smitten with Miss Crabtree, his school teacher. By 1931 Cooper was in demand for feature films, so Hal Roach sold his contract to Paramount Studios. Cooper received a Best Actor Oscar nomination for Skippy (1931) at age nine, making him the youngest actor ever to be nominated for that award. He is famous for playing opposite Wallace Beery in five films, most notably The Champ (1931). Although Cooper and Beery had a magical rapport in films, years later Cooper revealed that Beery was a foul-mouthed and sadistic person who was loathed by everyone on the set. Cooper served in the Second World War and later returned to Hollywood as a director. He won an Emmy for directing an episode of MASH. Cooper and Spanky McFarland are the only two Our Gang actors to have stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Cooper was widowed in 2009 after 55 years of marriage to his third wife. He also outlived two of his four children. Cooper died at age 88 on May 3, 2011.
