This brings back memories of high school, especially summer days in the 60's, going down the highway, with no responsibilities, just headin to the beach. And those muscle cars were so awesome, even now, if you're lucky enough to have one.

Another of those tacky motels that appeared across America. This one is in Gila Bend, Arizona (pronounced Hee-La) This motel is southwest of Phoenix on the way to Mexico and took its que from the popularity of the space craze in the early sixties. The hotel was shut down for many years and recently renovated and is even tackier. I wasn't aware that it had been renovated until I went looking for pics of it in the 60's. I drove by this area a few years ago and it was abandoned.

From the tv show Hullabaloo in 1965. Bobby Goldsboro started out in the early sixties as a guitarist with Roy Orbison. During his three years with Orbison he traveled all over the world and even toured with The Beatles. In 1964 he began his solo career by recording the first of a string of sixteen top-forty hits, “See the Funny Little Clown.” One of his first concert bookings had him opening for the Rolling Stones on their first U.S. tour. More million-selling hits followed, setting the stage for 1968 and the classic, “Honey,” which became the largest-selling record in the world. “Watching Scotty Grow,” “Little Green Apples” and “With Pen in Hand” have also become classics.

A variety of ads reflecting the historical development of Coca-Cola's tv advertising. Stop motion advertisement developed in the fifties and sixties, excerpts from the Hilltop video with an international group of young people on an Italian hilltop singing "I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke", and the 'Mean Joe Greene' commercial. It must work....I'm getting thirsty!
