Joan Jett first heard this song when she was touring England with The Runaways in 1976. She recorded a version with 2 members of The Sex Pistols in 1979, but it was her rerecording of it with The Blackhearts released in 1982 that finally put the song on the charts. The record label that The Arrows belonged to didn't promote the song, so it remained in relative obscurity until Joan recorded it, the second time. It still seems weird to hear a male version, although this is the original.
