Revlon Ad Revlon was founded in the midst of the Great Depression, 1932, by Charles Revson and his brother Joseph, along with a chemist, Charles Lachman, who contributed the "L" in the REVLON name...and it all started with a single product ~ a new type of nail emamel!

Whitney Houston Live I Will Always Love You An awesome performance of "I Will Always Love You", (from the 1992 film The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner) at Divas 1999. Whitney Houston was one of a few black artists to receive heavy rotation on MTV in the 1980's during a male rock dominated time, in the network's early years. AOL Black Voices said "Though her success seemed like a lightening rod, it was always validated by Whitney's polished and powerful vocal abilities - making her known as "The Voice". After marrying R&B singer Bobby Brown at the height of her career, rumors of drug and spousal abuse led to a decline in her album sales and her public image. Her personal troubles were talked about more than any of her music, and she regularly appeared in the tabloid press. Houston began looking and sounding less like the singer people came to know and she stopped making public appearances. She underwent two drug rehab programs in 2005 and 2006. After a successful second program in 2006, she divorced Bobby Brown and gained custody of their daughter, Bobbi Kristina. She has since been working on her 7th studio album with music mogul and close friend and mentor Clive Davis.

Andrew Golota The Foul Pole This is painful to watch. In 1996 Polish heavyweight boxer Andrew Golota was on his way to the big time. He was convincingly beating former champ Riddick Bowe when he repeatedly hit Bowe with low blows and was diqualified. A few months later the two met in a rematch. The same thing couldn't happen again, could it? Hey, that's why boxing writers dubbed Golota 'The Foul Pole!'

THE FORGOTTEN VICTIMS OF WWII The Greatest Mass Rape in History One of this century's greatest crimes, and probably one of the greatest crimes against women in history, was the mass rape of the conquered women of Europe in 1945. The rapists were mainly Red Army soldiers, some of them non-White troops from the Far East and Central Asian Republics of the Soviet Union. As the Red Army advanced toward her in 1945, the city of Berlin had become a city virtually without men. Out of a civilian population of 2,700,000, 2,000,000 were women. Former Soviet war correspondent Natalya Gesse recalled: "The Russian soldiers were raping every German female from eight to 80... It was an army of rapists." The rape victims were not just Germans. Polish women also suffered. So did young Russian, Belorussian and Ukrainian women who had been sent back to Germany by the Wehrmacht for slave labor. As Author Antony Beevor put it, "If anything, the events of 1945 reveal how thin the veneer of civilization can be when there is little fear of retribution." Our Gang Movie Poster 1927 This is the theatrical poster for the silent 1927 Our Gang short titled 'Baby Brother.' The plot is definitely politically incorrect by today's standards: Wealthy Joe Cobb is an only child who desperately wants a baby brother. He offers $3 to any gang member who can get him one. The resourceful Farina obtains a black neighbor's baby, covers him with white shoe polish, and sells him to Joe!
