Kyle Kendrick traded to Japan -Best 2008 April Fools joke: watch as baseball pitcher Kyle Kendrick of the Philadelphia Phillies gets an early April Fools joke, as he is made to believe that he's being traded to a Japanese baseball team in exchange for a player named "Kobayashi Iwamura". People were in on the prank at all levels, from his fellow players to his agent and even the team's assistant general manager...(Special thanks to Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia for the video. www.comcastsportsnet.com)

i love this ad for MUNSINGWEARS MEN'S UNDERWEAR . . according to the copy:
"Stretchy-seat" is a Munsingwear exclusive. It is a special horizontal panel knitted to give up and down. No other underwear has "stretchy seat." Men find it so comfortable they keep coming back for more. That's good business. "Stretchy-seat' is an exclusive feature of Munsingwear's Skit-Trunks, Longies and Shin-highs."

WESTPORT, Conn. (AP) — Actress and comedian Brett Somers, who amused game show fans with her quips on the "Match Game" in the 1970s, has died, her son said. She was 83.
Somers died Saturday at her home in Westport of stomach and colon cancer, Adam Klugman said Monday.
Hosted by Gene Rayburn, "Match Game" was the top game show during much of the 1970s. Contestants would try to match answers to nonsense questions with a panel of celebrities; much of the humor came from the racy quips and putdowns.
Shows from the 1973-79 run, featuring regulars like Somers, Richard Dawson and Charles Nelson Reilly, are still seen on cable TV's GSN (formerly Game Show Network.)
Somers married actor Jack Klugman, the future star of the television shows "Quincy" and "The Odd Couple," in 1953. The two separated in 1974, but never divorced.

I generally don't post recent clips, but this one needs to be shown. A panel of buffoons on the FOX News 'Redeye' show recently belittled the Canadian military at about the same time four Canadian soldiers were killed in Afghanistan in a roadside ambush. Among the classless things said about the Canadian Armed Forces was a bizarre accusation that they want to take a break from their duties to have 'yoga classes, paint landscapes and wear Capri pants on the beach.' Canadians are more than a little bit miffed by these ignorami. To date 116 Canadians have been killed in the mission in Afghanistan. Here's the story from CBC News.

Red Skelton is the mystery guest on this WML episode from September 26, 1954. The rules at that time permitted a panelist to keep questioning a mystery guest until a negative response was given. Fred Allen keeps getting affirmative answers from Red. When it's obvious that Allen knows who the mystery guest is, he makes a classic remark.

From February 13, 1955, Lou Fuller, the director of smog-control for Los Angeles County, stumps the What's My Line panel. (I'm sure glad that small problem was solved in 1955!) Look at how young guest panelist Louis Jourdan is!
