Citadels of Despair
"Where does one go from a world of insanity? Somewhere on the other side of despair."
- T S Eliot
People in the world can never imagine the length of days to those in asylums. They seemed never ending, and we welcomed any event that might give us something to think about as well as talk of.

Remember this 1979 song? It was the final big hit for Florida's KC and the Sunshine Band. The group had established itself in the early seventies with a cool sound all their own.
This memorable tune 'Please Don't Go' was the last massive hit for the group. 'Please Don't Go' sold for weeks on its original release, mainly thanks to radio play. The band achieved six number one tunes during their partnership. 'Please Don't Go' is best remembered as the hit that made the group depart into separate ways after having hits such as 'Get Down Tonight' and 'That's the Way I l like it', both released in 1975. The following year was as well a fantastic time for the band with 'I'm Your Boogie Man, and 'Shake Your Booty, and of course, 'Keep It Comin' Love'.
With this featured song being their final on the charts, it actually became the first chart topper in the year 1980. A song heard right through Christmas of 1979 into the eighties.
Ever since the seventies, KC (Harry Wayne Casey) has been making KC and the Sunshine Band's music move; singing and shaking to his fans across stages worldwide. Did you know that the singer also released his own material since then too.
Most critics have agreed that his solo work was worthy of being brought on the album charts.
KC and the Sunshine Band achieved more in a short time than what most bands achieve in a decade or more.
Today, KC and the Sunshine's music can be heard in movies, and being sampled in other songs that you may not even recognise.
KC and the Sunshine Band were a group effort that had more hits than other band could only dream for in the seventies. Do you remember 'Boogie Shoes'?
Highly creditable with dance hits, the former groups singer has proceeded on after an amazing revival of KC and the Sunshine Band's hits were played on 70s nostagia stations in the 1990s. The singer was recently seen on "American Idol" in 2009, showing all that he still has the ability to get people on their feet and dance. I should note that this clip is the superior version over the original clip version. How is that? There is more instrumentation being put out in quality form than you would normally hear from the original clip recording. If you love this song, I think you would love the composition "All I Want".
It is another pop ballad alike this. Simply fantastic music from a band that should of went on with more of the same energy they created on vinyl.
Now, let me concentrate on original bass player Richard Finch. A man also known for his studio production abilities.
Let us learn the truth to the bassist as he was the one who brought an inventive variety of numerous Sunshine Band brass players to the iconic seventies group. I would not want to be ridiculed on here for posting false information, right?
The talented musican has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! With people like this, there is nothing more you can do but be happy for him for being a unique individual. I mean, after all, he was partly responsible responsible for bringing KC and the Sunshine Band's music into our lives, especially with his musical abilities as a songwriter and musician.
Also, you can say as well that Richard Finch brought international acclaim to the group with his ear for on-going funky dance music.
Now with working together with singer Harry Wayne Casey (KC), they both became very successful with their original compositions. You can't deny this fact, or any of these truths to the tune or its history.
Hey, I went to music business school to study history and genres, and getting myself into the industry.
But I found out the truth's with it, and discovering it was not what I thought. Music is better to know as a listener. Hey, I love getting grilled on YRT with questions. What more could one ask for? This is the life of a teacher with an awareness to get asked the unasked. How does one prevent negative surprises online? By doing something uncommon. A nil response. My Motto: I am only going to promote awareness and interest in popular culture for the masses to reflect upon.

Alright, I aim to please on YRT with all of you.
Here is the successful Australian group the Bee Gee's with their hit single "Lonely Days". This performance in from the year 1975; showing all three brothers how they became more and more popular throughtout the seventies thanks to televised household exposure on programs such as this one. Originally recorded in 1970 with reknown producer Robert Stigwood, the "Lonely Days" recording really made a name for themselves amongst worldwide radio listeners, especially on the all-important American market. Sales figures on Bee Gees albums rose, with much thanks from their loyal fans who heard their harmonies vary on each album. With having such popularity, the three's continuity went right into the 1990s and beyond.
The Bee Gees have maintained their name in our song-driven pop-culture due to listenership from dedicated fans. Remember, the "oldschool" feeling is always 24/7 with me.

Okay, this here is a cool tune from the man who went into the popular culture world, Miami Vice's Don Johnson. With this mid-eighties clip, many were surprised after hearing the entire recording that he could actually sing. This album did generate a good deal of positive publicity for the actor who had a hit series that was a national hit. In this clip, the son of Frank Zappa provides some chunky guitar riffs throughout the dramatic lyrics. With 'Heartbeat', radio stations picked up on it immediately in 1986. This enabled the single 'Heartbeat' to go into the Top five on the charts. Don garnered a significant amount of quality airtime for the single on television too. With this one album, Don scored a few big-time songwriters to help him out on the album, Tom Petty included. Appearing also, popular musicians added their recording input on selected tunes, those included, guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan, and country star Willie Nelson. This according to the album credits. 'Heartbeat' was popular enough to spawn a second radio single. The beginning and end of this clip are quite good, this was what gave it much appeal to his fans worldwide.
Don Johnson was "all-star" in the eighties, thanks to the Florida-filmed television show. After a few short years, another album was released.
'Heartbeat' continued to be talked about, and was eventually re-released due to his on-going popularity on syndicated channels and the all-important cable stations.
The follow-up to this 1986 album was titled 'Let It Roll', which was brought out in 1989. This second album was for the fan of the actor/performer. It didn't fare as well as 'Heartbeat' on the charts.

What is love? Do you remember Howard Jones? Do you still remember 1984? Do you remember what you had for lunch last Monday?
Do you remember the whole second British Invasion?
Huh? Remember the "New Wave" of music that took over the radio and television in the eighties?
Hard to avoid any of it.
Once a resident of Canada in his younger days, this Welsh born singer came out with a great song then titled 'New Song'; ironically enough in the year 1984. This was from the hit album "Human's Lib". Howard's album sold better than most other bands these days, due to its strong promotion from those behind him. In the 80s, Howard Jones was a pop music star thanks to the albums success.
At that time, television was showing tune filled clips almost every hour on various programs everywhere. This was what enabled him to become more than he could ever think of.
I remembered recently, I was spending a great deal of time in Britain then, so I had heard all this British 80s music before it went overseas in 1984.
With North America, Howard Jones went into radio play during the summertime of 1984; 'What Is Love' hit the all-important pop sales chart thanks to the catchy lyrics. Much of the success to this album was thanks to the production duties from producer Rupert Hine. Check the album credits of your favorite vinyl for his name.
In the early eighties, Howard Jones influencial look became cool for many teens, and this gave Jones the opportunity to play various cities with all the other trendy groups that came out of Britain at the time.
These days, Howard Jones still devotes his life towards the music he has performed in the past years.
You still like him? Howard has just recorded new music for 2009. Catch him on tour. *E*

Remember this movie that started a hairstyle fad?
It was a pretty funny flick directed by a master of comedic movies. Shot partially in Mexico, this movie was definately what male audiences were looking for back then. It was obviously titled and written for men. Have you seen it?
The director had his wife playing opposite of a role she would not typically take. This would happen again in another feature for her to mainly star in.
From the release date, the lead actress was featured in many magazines, and was given the opportunity to grace the cover of a popular men's magazine. Remember that? This film was definately a higher number than it really is.
This is the television commercial to the popular theatrical film.
